TV viewers across the globe have torched their Test team, not for their performance on the pitch, but a huge new logo on the front of their uniforms.
Australia began day one of the first Test in Perth brilliantly, taking four wickets before lunch, including the prized scalp of former skipper Joe Root.
But before the Aussies got down to business, fans were quick to point out the glaringly obvious Westpac logo in the centre of their shirts, complaining that it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Fans have since taken to social media to voice their displeasure at Cricket Australia over the call to plaster the sponsor’s logo across the stars’ chests.
‘The big red @Westpac W really ruins the @CricketAus whites kit,’ one person wrote on X.
‘That Westpac logo looks horrendous’, another user claimed.

The Aussie team’s new look came after Westpac signed a $40million deal with Cricket Australia in July
Brendan Doggett (pictured celebrating with his Australia teammates) enjoyed a dream debut with the ball. The same can’t be said of the team’s new look
‘Early prediction: The English batsmen are gonna complain that the giant red Westpac logo on the Australian bowlers shirts, is too distracting’, yet another commented.
Westpac secured the sponsorship with the national men’s and women’s teams in July, with the deal worth $40million.
The collaboration includes Westpac’s logo appearing on team shirts for matches in Australia, and recognised support for the domestic Big Bash League.
Westpac’s emblem is featured on the shirts for all international matches played in Australia, including Test, One-Day, and T20 formats.
Former Test star Damien Martyn lashed out against the team spruiking sponsors with large logos on the front of their shirts back in December 2023, when Toyota was the culprit.
‘When has the test team started to put sponsors logo large on the front? Terrible look in test cricket. Just my old school opinion though,’ Martyn wrote on X.
Fans were also far from impressed at the time.
‘Maybe the logo could have been more of a Yaris, rather than a Landcruiser size,’ one said on X.
Fans were left fuming after catching a glimpse of the branding plastered on the attire
They’ve taken to social media to slam the new look
The Westpac branding is visible across the Aussie attire for each format of cricket
‘Who is the sponsor? Logo so small it’s hard to read,’ another fan joked.
‘Can we get uniforms with bigger sponsorship logos please? Maybe the players could get big Toyota insignia tattooed on their faces?’ a third fan added.
A fourth fan said: ‘Too big. I’m sorry. The sponsorship logo is too big.’
Another reply joked about the logo: ‘Can see it from space.’
