The Minister of Health inspects the sports medicine building project at the National Institute of the Musculoskeletal System

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Health and Population, today, Saturday, inspected a number of ongoing construction projects within the framework of developing health infrastructure and raising the efficiency of medical services.

The Minister began his tour of the National Institute for the Musculoskeletal and Nervous System and Sports Medicine, where he listened to patients’ complaints in outpatient clinics, and directed that a case be reserved for immediate treatment and a woman be referred to be fitted with hearing aids at the Institute of Hearing and Speech.

 The Minister inspected the new sports medicine building project (7 floors – 30 thousand square meters), which includes 46 outpatient clinics, 4 physical therapy halls, rehabilitation swimming pools, 148 indoor beds, 6 laboratories (genetic and movement), an integrated radiology department, and 8 operating rooms, stressing the acceleration of work and overcoming all obstacles, directing the conclusion of twinning with specialized international rehabilitation centers.

On the grounds of the Imbaba Fever Hospital, the Minister inspected the two projects of the medical educational complex (a school and a nursing institute) and the medical warehouse building, Expressing his dissatisfaction with the delay, he directed that contracts be reviewed and legal measures be taken against those responsible for the delay.

The Minister was accompanied by Dr. Peter Wagih, Assistant Minister for Therapeutic Medicine, Dr. Sherif Mustafa, Assistant Minister for National Projects, Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Abdel Ghaffar, Head of the Hospitals and Educational Institutes Authority, and a number of the Ministry’s leaders.
