Sudden campaigns from local development on the neighborhoods of Hadayek al-Qubba, Sayyida Zeinab, and Ain Shams in Cairo

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, announced that a committee from the ministry’s inspection, control and follow-up sector will make a surprise visit during the month of November to the neighborhoods of Sayyida Zeinab, Hadayek El-Qubba and Ain Shams in Cairo Governorate, to follow up on the progress of work and raise the efficiency of performance, ensure administrative and field discipline, improve the quality of services provided to citizens, reduce violating construction, review reconciliation and legalization files, spatial variables and follow up on the work of implementing the investment plan projects, revenues, financial affairs and the hygiene system. And the mechanical campaign, occupancy, advertisements, markets, performance of the technological center, and solving citizens’ problems.

  The Minister of Local Development received a report from the Inspection and Follow-up Sector, headed by Engineer Haitham Al-Desouki, on the results of the field traffic of the sector’s teams on the Sayyida Zeinab neighborhood, where the report indicated that the demolition of a building was carried out without a permit, legal measures were taken against the violator, and construction materials were confiscated. Violations were also monitored in the Department of Stores and Financial Affairs, and legal measures were taken against them in preparation for referring the matter to the prosecution to carry out its affairs, and the presence of violations in the Occupancy Department regarding the accumulation of Debts on the kiosks, and measures were taken in this regard and the matter was referred to the Cairo Governorate to work on its affairs.

The report explained that intensive campaigns were carried out to remove occupancy and illegal advertisements throughout the day from public roads, shops and cafes, and to deposit seized items in warehouses, in the areas of (Qadri Street – Al-Sayyeda Zeinab Square – Al-Koumi Street – Khairat Street – Nubar Street – Al-Silsilah Street – Port Said), as well as the closure and waxing of unlicensed public shops, and some shops were warned to complete their requests and reconcile the situation according to the new public shops system, in addition to monitoring uncollected debts and claims for the benefit of the district from companies and individuals, and a committee was formed to speed up collection and direct the development of a plan to exploit state property assets regarding (bakki and shops) that are not being exploited to maximize revenues, despite the presence of violations in some building permit files, and measures were taken regarding those violations, as Directions were given to quickly complete the investment plan projects according to the schedule.  

With regard to the sudden traffic on the Hadayek Al-Qubba neighborhood to review the neighborhood’s work, the extent of providing services to citizens with the required quality and timing, and monitoring any violations of the committee, the report received by the Minister of Local Development indicated that the results of the traffic resulted in the presence of some violations that require referral to the competent prosecution to carry out its affairs, as the committee revealed during the examination the presence of violations in some building permit files in addition to some administrative violations of regulations and periodic books. The organization of the work, as noted from the field traffic, is the presence of occupancy on the main streets. The committee accompanied the head of the district in a massive campaign to remove the occupancy and clear the sidewalks in the streets for passers-by, in addition to monitoring some cases of construction without a permit for a building at 22 Qasim Amin Street, where the owner of the property obtained a ground permit and four floors, and the building permits were violated until the ninth floor. Immediately coordination was made with the district presidency and the competent authorities to remove the violating works, which took place while the committee was present, and the members of the committee were keen to emphasize that the workers In the neighborhood, it is necessary to adhere to the laws and regulations governing work.

With regard to sudden traffic in the Ain Shams neighborhood, the report received by Dr. Manal Awad indicated that many cases of administrative violations had been monitored in warehouses and administrative affairs requiring referral to the competent prosecution to carry out its affairs, and the discovery of the construction of illegal floors without a license in the property No. 10, Abu Hashish Street; The works were stopped and the violating floors were removed immediately, building materials were confiscated, and tools and supplies were seized. Two massive campaigns were implemented to remove occupancies from the main streets and clear sidewalks for passers-by, as well as a campaign to remove construction waste from the main streets and squares and an end to 50% of late transactions in the technology center in order to preserve the interest of the citizen.

The Minister of Local Development praised the efforts made by the inspection, control and follow-up sector in the ministry to monitor any violations or Failure in the work and performance required of all workers in centers, neighborhoods and cities in the governorates. Dr. Manal Awad also directed the sector teams to continue surprise inspection campaigns on local administration units in various governorates, to ensure work discipline, achieve administrative discipline and follow up on the quality of services provided to citizens, while taking immediate legal measures against any violations detected during the field traffic.

The Minister of Local Development indicated that the Ministry will not tolerate any negligence in the decisive dealings of the executive bodies in the governorates with any An attempt to relax or disrupt legal procedures regarding building violations.
