MAFS’ John Aiken Weighs In On Cyrell’s I’m A Celebrity 2026 Stint

Since launching in 2015, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has featured a handful of Married At First Sight (MAFS) participants swapping married life for jungle strife. This includes Ryan Gallagher and his ex-wife Davina Rankin, Samantha Moitzi, and, of course, Domenica Calarco — because who could forget her iconic feud with Kerri-Anne Kennerley

This season, it’s the iconic Cyrell Paule who has flown to South Africa to take on the wild, dangerous and often disgusting tucker trials.

Following her debut in Monday night’s episode — where she participated in a bug and maggot-filled challenge and was forced to spend the night in the Elephant Graveyard — MAFS expert John Aiken has shared his thoughts on the former TV bride’s latest reality stint.

The Channel 9 star told PEDESTRIAN.TV that, while he doesn’t typically stay in touch with MAFS’ participants after filming the series, he thinks it’s “great” seeing them continue a career in the spotlight.

“I want them to get what they want and move on to bigger and better things, and I wish them all the best,” he said.

“I don’t typically have a huge amount to do with them after the show. Some go overseas to the UK — like Lucinda [Light] ended up over there — some go on to different reality shows, some become influencers, and I’m happy for them.”

John admitted that he’s very aware participants often sign up to MAFS with an idea of what opportunities can come after the show, but at the end of the day, his main concern is that they’re willing to commit to the experiment.

“All I’m wanting is that when they are on our show, I’m wanting them to throw themselves into it completely and open themselves up and really, at some stage, try and learn something about relationships,” he told P.TV.

“Where I get frustrated is when they come on the show and after two days, they say, ‘Yeah, sorry, they’ve got blonde hair, I really wanted someone who was a brunette, so I’m out of here’, and they don’t really experience the experiment. I just want them to throw themselves into it and really open themselves up. That’s what I want.”

MAFS is set to return with its 13th season on Monday, February 6, and you can bet I’m A Celebrity producers will be watching to scout the next breakout star.
