In what has to be one of the most ironic reality TV discoveries of all time, Married At First Sight (MAFS) fans have spotted 2026 bride Brook Crompton in a Kmart ad after she made fun of its sister company Target during Wednesday night’s explosive Dinner Party.
ICYMI, all hell broke loose when Brook and fellow participant Gia Fleur viciously attacked their co-stars Stella Mickunaite and Alissa Fay across the dinner table. They mocked Alissa’s voice and hair and made fun of Stella’s shoes, which Brook joked were from Target.
“Hey babe, while you’re at it, get the stripper boots off, babe! Get the stripper boots off!” Brook yelled at her.
“Like, you know what, if you’re gonna buy stripper boots, buy 100 per cent lamb — don’t buy faux leather,” she continued, later adding, “Seriously, where’d you get them from, Target?”
Turns out MAFS’ Brook starred in a Kmart ad
Viewers were not only shook by Brook’s aggressive comments and patronising tone of voice, but also that the budget retailer was catching strays for no reason.
Now, in a wild turn of events, MAFS fan account @mafsuncensored has shared a video of Brook starring in an ad for Kmart — which has owned Target since 2023 when the companies merged.
The clip shows Brook, who is a model, walking up to a bench and lifting the lid on two different coloured $25 cast iron pots. It’s unknown exactly when the ad was filmed or aired on TV, although a quick look at Kmart’s website shows that its cast iron pot has since risen to $27.
Several fans took to the comments on social media to poke fun at the irony and joke that they would have to stop shopping at Kmart now, with one outraged viewer writing: “She took the piss out of @targetaus and here she is with their sister brand??? WTF.”
Meanwhile, MAFS: After The Dinner Party hosts Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne said on PEDESTRIAN.TV’s podcast Villain Edit that they thought Brook’s comment about Target was “childish”.
“I just want it on record — there’s nothing wrong with shopping at Target. I love Target, I love Kmart. My favourite jumper is $15 from Kmart, and I get complimented on it all the time,” Brittany shared.
“So this whole like, ‘Where’d you get your clothes from? Target?’, I ain’t buying it. Actually, I am buying it — from Target.”
Brook has since released a statement addressing her “appalling” behaviour at the Dinner Party, although she noticeably didn’t offer an apology to Target. PEDESTRIAN.TV has contacted Target and Kmart for comment.
