Footy star Terrell May calls in the lawyers after intimate images were leaked on social media without his permission

NRL star Terrell May has engaged the services of lawyers after intimate images of the Wests Tigers prop were shared on social media without his permission.

Daily Mail understands the images are four years old, and May feels his ‘privacy has been violated’.

May, 26, and his management notified Wests Tigers and the NRL.

It is understood they also informed Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, with May reportedly confident he knows the person who allegedly shared the images.

‘Terrell is obviously disappointed with what has happened,’ May’s manager David Rawlings told News Corp.

‘They were images that he never intended to be made public. His privacy has been violated and we have taken action to address the matter.

‘We have also been open and transparent with the club and the integrity unit, who have both offered their full support.’

May made his NRL debut with the Roosters in 2022 before signing a lucrative deal with the Tigers last year.

He is tipped to push for NSW Origin selection this year.

Last year, May revealed he came close to taking his own life in 2024 when he was still contracted to the Roosters.

Speaking with his brother Taylan on the Mayday podcast, Terrell opened up on how a terrifying bout of depression took him to the brink.

‘I was driving to Roosters training, I told him I’m quitting,’ he said.

‘I’m turning the car around to ring Robbo [coach Trent Robinson] to tell him I’m quitting. I’m done. ‘Just cause I was just done, with everything.

‘I called my manager and I told him, I’m not playing anymore, rip my contract up, I don’t care anymore.

‘I don’t know what happened, it was just one of those days where I was just depressed as.’

Struggling to get the words out, Terrell admitted suicide had crossed his mind during his darkest time.

‘As bad as it sounds, I wanted to properly drive my car [into a wall],’ he said.

‘I was on the M4, I wanted to drive my car into the wall, bro.’

May added that religion helped him get through the darkest days and he constantly turned to his faith for strength.

‘To be honest, God fixed many problems in my life,’ he said.

‘Every time I’m feeling down, I know there’s one person I can count on – and that’s him. ‘He’s never going to change, he’s always going to be the same.’

The Tigers have a Round 1 bye in the NRL, with their first match on March 14 against the Cowboys at Leichhardt Oval.
