Is YOUR face Old Money? Cosmetic experts reveal why it’s now chic to look ‘polished rather than enhanced’ – and the celebs who are getting it right and wrong

An exaggerated pout, a wrinkle-free forehead and an almost masculine, pointed jawline. All these looks and more were once coveted by modern women.

However, now a new ‘quieter aesthetic’ is emerging, according to cosmetic experts. The ‘Old Money face’ trend sees people prioritise preserved movement, luminous skin and soft contouring rather than ‘obvious enhancement’.

Instead, those ditching a ‘New Money’ look for the latest preference should show restraint, concentrating on ‘proportion and polish’ and preserving individuality.

The shift towards the ‘quiet luxury’ appearance comes as clinics report rising demand for discreet collagen stimulation, conservative toxin placement and undetectable tweaks.

So, with looking effortlessly put together now the ultimate status symbol, which celebrities are embracing an ‘Old Money face’ (and which are not!)…?

Those with an ‘Old Money face’

Hailey Bieber

Model Hailey Bieber, 29, is the poster girl for the ‘clean girl’ aesthetic – dewy skin and make-up that’s barely there.

She insists that she’s resisted Botox so far – apart from jabs in her chin to treat TMJ, or temporomandibular joint disorder, is a condition that affects the joints and muscles around the jaw, causing pain and difficulty moving the mouth.

Instead, she relies on treatments such as platelet-rich plasma, which involves taking blood from another part of the body and spinning it to increase the concentration of platelets, before injecting it in the face to repair damaged tissue.

Additionally, the entrepreneur relies on platelet-rich fibrin, or PRF, injections.

‘They take your blood — but it’s called EZ Gel — and basically they heat it and then they cool it, and it kind of makes your blood a gel consistency,’ she explained previously. ‘And then you inject it. So I’ve done that, which I loved. I’ve injected my smile lines. I’ve injected it under my eyes.’

The result is that she’s avoided the overly ‘frozen’ look that Botox can create.

Dr Richard Devine, founder of the Devine Clinic, said: ‘Hailey Bieber’s aesthetic is built around luminous skin, soft contour and proportion rather than projection.

‘Lips remain balanced with the rest of her features, and movement is preserved – the overall effect is polished but restrained. It’s skin-first refinement, not overt sculpting.’

Sofia Richie

During her era of dating Justin Bieber and Scott Disick in her early 20s, model Sofia Richie was all about baggy hoodies, athleisure and swear pants.

But since marrying music executive Elliot Grange, in a custom Chanel bridal gown, she’s developed a distinctive old money style.

Now the 27-year-old is likely to be seen in stealth wealth labels such as Khaite, Loro Piana, and Brunello Cucinelli – and of course she has the face to match.

‘Often cited as the poster girl for quiet luxury, Sofia Richie Grainge’s look prioritises clarity, symmetry and understated elegance,’ Dr Devine said.

‘Minimal contour and natural lip shape create harmony rather than drama. The beauty reads effortless and generational rather than trend-led.’

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie has an an Old Money face, according to experts, because of her timeless look

Respected Miami cosmetic injector Dr Jarrett Schanzer recently weighed in on 35-year-old Margot’s age-defying look in an Instagram Reel, noting that the actress looks more ‘lifted, structured and defined than ever’.

‘Just a few years ago, her features were noticeably softer and rounder. Now, we see lifted cheeks, more defined jawline contours, and a beautifully balanced profile, all without obvious signs of surgery,’ the practitioner claimed in November.

As for the possible procedures responsible for Margot’s new glow, Dr Schanzer pointed to biostimulators such as Radiesse, Sculptra or Hyaluronic Acid fillers to restore volume and shape her jawline, as well as Botox to reposition her eyebrows.

If she has had a few tweakments, Margot has managed to keep them on the subtle side.

Dr Devine said: ‘Margot Robbie’s features appear balanced and timeless, with subtle definition rather than exaggerated volume.

‘Nothing dominates the face. The aesthetic feels cohesive, softly structured and camera-ready without looking engineered.’

Rosamund Pike

The Hollywood star is known for her fierce bob cut with an ashy blonde tint reminiscent of Grace Kelly, and with her height and willowy frame, she represents a classic sort of beauty.

‘Clean lines, minimal enhancement and expressive movement define Rosamund Pike’s look,’ revealed Dr Devine.

‘The emphasis is on refinement and proportion, not contour-heavy transformation. The result feels composed and controlled rather than dramatic.’

Amal Clooney

Amal Clooney’s red carpet beauty secret is making sure her skin is prepped to perfection, and is said to regularly invest in non-surgical treatments to stay youthful.

For instance, ahead of the Venice premiere of Jay Kelly, Amal had a 111SKIN treatment which involved her getting ‘wrinkle-miminising wand movements’ and a facial massage.

The products used for the facial come to over £2,200 with the treatment lasting 90 minutes and costing around £240.

Anastasia Koles, the founder of ALTA Clinic London, said: ‘Amal Clooney’s aesthetic centres on polish and proportion.

‘Strong natural features are enhanced subtly rather than amplified. The balance between structure and softness gives a quietly powerful, expensive finish.’

Lily Collins

Last week it was announced that Lily Collins will play timeless beauty Audrey Hepburn in a film about the making of Breakfast at Tiffany’s – a role fans have insisted she was born to play thanks to her striking resemblance to the star.

‘Lily Collins is known for her defined natural features that remain expressive and harmonious,’ said Anastasia.

‘There is clarity and restraint in the overall look – skin quality and balance take priority over visible augmentation.’

The sculpted ‘New Money’ face

Christina Aguilera

Christina, 45, has sparked rumours about both plastic surgery and Ozempic, thanks to her slimmed-down figure and eternally youthful look.

London-based aesthetics doctor Dr Jonny Betteridge, who has not treated Aguilera, previously said in a viral TikTok video that he suspects the mother-of-two has undergone a face lift, eyelid surgery and extensive dental work.

Dr Devine said: ‘Christina Aguilera is often associated with high-glam red carpet styling, fuller lips and defined contour.

‘Her aesthetic embraces visual impact, with emphasis on smoothness and structure. Her look leans into polished perfection – high-definition skin, statement features and a finish that reads dramatic rather than understated.’

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner first started getting dermal filler in her lips as a teenager.

She admitted that she started because of ‘insecurity’ after a boy she liked told her her naturally thin lips were ‘unkissable’.

In 2018, she claimed she’d had all of her lip filler dissolved but she eventually had them injected again – plus she’s known for her heavy make-up and high octane glamour, especially on the red carpet.

‘Kylie Jenner is known for fuller lip volume and pronounced cheek definition,’ Dr Devine said.

‘The look is bold, highly polished and intentionally sculpted. Strong contour and seamless smoothness create a face that photographs strikingly and feels deliberately constructed rather than softly natural.’

Khloé Kardashian

Talking to plastic surgeon Dr Terry Dubrow, of the TV show Botched, Khloe previously explained that her face was altered in an unattractive way by filler and she was ‘afraid’ to have it done again.

‘It did not work for me. I looked crazy, and I still think the effects are in there – I went to have it all dissolved like three times,’ she said.

While she now looks more natural, she’s still got that glamorous Kardashian aesthetic.

‘Khloe Kardashian’s aesthetic evolution has included stronger contour and enhanced structure, creating a defined, high-impact appearance designed for maximum visibility,’ claimed Dr Devine.

‘The overall effect prioritises sharp lines and sculpted symmetry over subtle blending.’

Megan Fox

Anastasia said: ‘Megan Fox boasts a sharper symmetry and defined contour to create a striking, sculpted look.

‘The aesthetic reads dramatic and intentional rather than understated. Smooth skin and enhanced structure give a high-gloss, high-definition finish.’

Lindsay Lohan

‘Lindsay Lohan has often been photographed with fuller lips, smooth complexions and a more visibly refined structure in recent years,’ said Anastasia.

‘The aesthetic leans toward polished glamour and noticeable definition rather than soft restraint. The overall impression is sleek and elevated, with clarity and contour taking centre stage.’

Naomi Campbell

‘Naomi is known for ultra-polished, high-definition runway glamour,’ explained the expert.

‘The aesthetic leans into sharp structure, flawless smoothness and commanding presence rather than softness or understatement. The finish is powerful and camera-ready, designed for maximum visual precision.’
