
The property market is stuttering, and many are now asking whether this will lead to a big tumble in house prices.
The bad news has been coming thick and fast. Nationwide said house prices fell in May for the first time this year, Savills has flipped its forecast from a rise to a fall and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors estate agents sounded a gloomy warning on sales.
There are fewer people out house hunting, fewer people making offers and buyers are sitting on their hands – but could that actually make it a better time to buy?
