Man United keeper targeted by Premier League newcomers Hull City – as he refuses to be a back-up

Hull City are among the clubs circling Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek.

Daily Mail Sport understands that Hull are among several Premier League clubs interested in Vitek, alongside fellow promoted outfits Coventry City and Ipswich Town.

Vitek spent last season on loan at Championship side Bristol City, keeping 12 clean sheets in 41 appearances.

Although United want to avoid losing the highly rated young shot-stopper, they accept the circumstance is complicated by Vitek having two years left on his contract with a desire to play regular football.

The 22-year-old has previously admitted that he does not want to remain at Old Trafford to play back-up.

Therefore, United are open to a sale, while the Czech youth international would be allowed to leave on loan if he committed to a new contract.

United are already working on adding an experienced No. 2 to support clear first-choice Senne Lammens and have assessed moves for Sam Johnstone and Karl Darlow.

Hull want to sign two goalkeepers this summer and have sent scouts to the World Cup, having already opened talks with Sporting Braga for Lukas Hornicek.

They also made a bold enquiry for Bayern Munich’s Alexander Nubel, but he is holding out for a more attractive move.
