Nation’s largest pilates chain hits deal to open 70 more stores in three states

Club Pilates, the world’s largest Pilates chain, has signed a major expansion deal to bring 70 new studios to three states.

The new studios will be developed across Maryland, Michigan and New York. The Irvine, California-based brand, owned by Xponential Fitness, partnered with franchisee Saber Ammori, who already owns and operates 14 Club Pilates studios in the New York City area, with additional locations in development.

As part of the agreement, Ammori and private investment firm Cohere Capital have formed a new company called Renew Fitness, which will oversee both existing and future Club Pilates locations, CoStar reports. Once the planned expansion is complete, Renew Fitness will have a pipeline of 84 studios, making it one of the brand’s largest multi-unit franchise operators.

The deal comes as demand continues to rise for low-impact, instructor-led fitness programs, according to CoStar .

“Even after twenty-plus years, Club Pilates continues to push the boundaries of boutique fitness franchising,” Mike Nuzzo, CEO of Xponential Fitness, said in a statement. “This deal with Renew Fitness is a testament to the brand’s strength, economics, and staying power. We are thrilled to see large multi-unit owners and area developers reinvesting in the brand and making our incredible offerings accessible to more communities around the world.”

Ammori said the new venture will help expand access to Pilates in markets where the workout remains underrepresented.

“The goal has always been to keep growing with Club Pilates — my team and I are extremely passionate about this empowering, inclusive brand,” Ammori said in a statement. “There is still so much whitespace for Pilates in the U.S., and the formation of Renew Fitness will help us unlock that next phase of growth.”

Beyond fitness, Ammori is also co-founder and co-CEO of Wireless Vision, which runs more than 450 T-Mobile stores across the U.S., and he has additional investments in real estate, car washes, and other consumer businesses, according to his online bio.

Founded in 2007, Club Pilates currently operates more than 1,300 studios worldwide, over 1,120 of which are in the U.S. It remains the world’s largest Pilates brand by studio count.

This recent agreement follows several other major expansion deals with franchise groups, including Riser Fitness, Spartan Fitness and Aligned Fitness, which together own more than 350 Club Pilates studios.
