Gunman on the run after shooting and killing a man outside a home in Melbourne

A gunman is on the run after a young man was shot dead at a sporting oval in Melbourne’s north.
Police were called to Victoria Drive in Thomastown, about 7.30pm on Sunday following reports of shots being fire.
A man aged in his 20s was found critically injured at HR Uren Reserve and died at the scene, despite desperate attempts to save him.
The area was cordoned off as a homicide investigation was launched.
A red ute was later towed from the scene as the victim’s friends and family gathered at the cordoned-off soccer complex.
No arrests have been made, and police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
