Olympics legend Lindsey Vonn has admitted she’s ‘really happy’ with her new boyfriend in rare comments about her love life.
The American skier, 42, officially hard launched her relationship with fellow alpine ski star Matthieu Bailet back in September following a whirlwind summer romance.
It was finally some good news for Vonn after a traumatic 2026 that saw her suffer a shocking leg injury at the Winter Olympics back in February that left her needing eight surgeries.
Speaking at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards earlier this week, Vonn told People she’s ‘trying to strike a nice balance’ between being open about her love life and keeping some things private.
‘I think in my past it’s kind of been mixed of keeping things private and maybe oversharing,’ she said.
Vonn, who previously dated Tiger Woods, then revealed she’s ‘really happy’ about how her romance with Bailet, who is an ‘amazing boyfriend,’ is progressing.

‘He’s awesome and I wanted to share that. People know now I’m dating someone and I’m happy, but I’m not going to share too much moving forward,’ she added.
Months after being spotted with Bailet at the Monaco Grand Prix, Vonn took to Instagram to confirm their relationship with some vacation snaps.
Among the carousel of images, which showed off her escapades this summer, Vonn and Bailet were seen packing on the PDA at a pool during their travels.
Another showed the couple relaxing on a hammock in the ocean together, while they were also seen enjoying a day at the beach in another photo.
Vonn captioned the post: ‘About that time for a summer recap… pt 1’. Bailet wasted no time in commenting: ‘Can’t wait to see the summer recap part 2’ with a kissing emoji.
American tennis star Sloane Stephens was among those to comment on the post, writing: ‘HARD LAUNCH!!!!!!!’.
A bombshell report from People back in May claimed that Vonn had been getting close to Bailet after a number of public sightings at the time.
‘They’re getting to know each other,’ a source told the outlet, saying they’ve been spending time together in New York City.

The pair were later photographed backstage after a performance of the Broadway musical The Outsiders back in June.
They had also been spotted shopping in SoHo and riding on the subway together the same week Vonn was seen at the Met Gala.
Moreover, eagle-eyed fans saw the 42-year-old Vonn post a flirty side-eye emoji in the comments of an Instagram post of Bailet with his shirt off outside while he washed his car earlier this year.
It was the first time that Vonn had been linked to a new beau since her 2025 breakup with business executive Diego Osorio.
Vonn confirmed in February 2025 that she and Osorio had split, which left her time and space to focus on her preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The ski icon previously told the outlet that it’s hard for non-athletes to understand what life is like on her schedule.
‘It’s hard to have thick enough skin to not combat everyone that wants to tell you what to do, or how to do it, or tell you that you should have done something differently when there’s maybe five people in the world that even understand the pressure that I was under,’ she told People.
