The Institute of Agricultural Counseling and Rural Development, affiliated to the Agricultural Research Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, during the fourth week of July, implemented a series of guidelines and educational seminars that included 27 seminars in the field of rationalization of irrigation water, which was implemented in 6 governorates. & nbsp; That the number of beneficiaries of these seminars has reached about 850 farmers ’leaders and agricultural engineers in the governorates: & nbsp; Sohag, the East, Dakahlia, Western, Damietta and Port Said, where the focus was on developing the knowledge and skills of farmers and agricultural engineers in the relevant governorates on many topics related to this vital field, pointing out that he has participated in these activities a group of a group of from these events. Technical and counseling experts from the institutes of agricultural counseling, land, water and the environment, and agricultural engineering, in a framework of cooperation and partnership with the directorates of agriculture in the relevant governorates. The use of modern irrigation systems, including the developed surface irrigation system, the correct practices to rationalize the use of irrigation water, and the need to use agricultural methods that are appropriate to the water needs of each crop in a way that enhances the efficiency of irrigation water. Modern irrigation methods and methods of rationalizing the use of irrigation water at the field level in proportion to the quality of agricultural land and cultivated crops, choosing short -lived and low -consuming crops for water, and the importance of this in reducing irrigation water and achieving the maximum benefit from added fertilizers, which reflects positively on reducing production costs, increasing agricultural production and improving the standard of living Farmers. On many topics that enhance the efficiency of water use in agriculture in light of the limited water resources available, the increasing demand for agricultural production to achieve the desired food security in light of the rapid climate changes, and the steady increase in the population numbers.
