All the celebrities supporting Spencer Pratt for LA mayor… as reality star’s chances of defeating Karen Bass surge

Reality TV star Spencer Pratt‘s chances of winning the Los Angeles mayoral race have surged nearly a week after a much-talked-about debate performance against his woke rivals, as many celebrities have put their support behind the candidate.

Fellow reality stars, actors, musicians, powerful podcasters, daughters of former respected politicians, and, of course, his wife, Heidi Montag, have publicly backed the 42-year-old former star of The Hills.

It comes at a good time as he has overtaken LA City Councilwoman Nithya Raman, who was previously considered the favorite according to regulated exchange and prediction market site Kalshi.

As of Wednesday, the market gives Pratt a 32 percent chance of capturing the mayoral office compared to Raman’s 11 percent, as incumbent Karen Bass holds the lead with 55 percent.

Voters are just weeks away from casting their ballots on June 2, and Pratt appears to have timed his campaign blitz just in time, with his odds more than doubling in the past month. 

At a debate on Wednesday night, Pratt was declared the winner over Bass and Raman by 79 percent of viewers polled by NBC, as his brash style won praise from many. 

Pratt especially dominated Raman, reducing her to a ‘random city council member’ in a jibe at Raman that went viral on social media. 

Pratt launched his campaign after becoming a vocal critic of Bass’s tenure as mayor, in particular after his $3.8 million home burned down in the LA wildfires in January last year. 

The aspiring politician said he would much rather face only Raman in the election without Bass.

‘All the unions support Mayor Bass,’ he said. ‘You think it’s easier to run against the incumbent mayor with all the unions, or a random city council member who has been a failure for six years?’

The star accused Bass of mismanaging the response to the fires, which went on to burn down over 11,000 other structures and cause billions in damage. 

Although he registered as a Republican for the election, Pratt said his campaign is not centered on party affiliation, as he has also made fixing Los Angeles’ issues with homelessness and drug use central to his candidacy. 

Now the Daily Mail takes a look at some of the celebrities who have put their support behind Pratt for LA mayor… 

Heidi Montag  

Like Pratt, Montag, 38,is a registered republican and has been married to the former reality show villain since 2008.

They share two young sons together – eight-year-old Gunner and three-year-old Ryker.

Both Pratt and Montag starred on the MTV reality show, The Hills, which aired from 2006 to 2010. 

Of her support of her husband’s mayoral campaign, she told LA Fox affiliate back in February: ‘It made sense to me, and I’m very supportive of that, and he is the best man for the job. So I hope and I pray that he gets this opportunity. We’ll see what God has planned.

‘It would be great for LA. It would be for everyone involved. So we’ll just have to see how everything plays out, but I’m hopeful.’

Kristin Cavallari 

Kristin Cavallari, who starred alongside Pratt on The Hills, has backed her former castmate.

The 39-year-old businesswoman is not able to vote for her co-star as she is a resident of Tennessee but she does believe in him as a candidate.

She said on the April 21 episode of her Let’s Be Honest podcast: ‘This is more The Hills, but coming off of Laguna [Beach], I had a lot of people say, “Talk about Spencer running for mayor.” So you know what? Let’s talk about it.

‘I think Spencer running for mayor is f***ing genius. Because I think everyone in politics – I don’t care what side you’re on — everyone is corrupt.

‘To get to that level, you have to play their game. It’s all an agenda, and I think their goal is to keep all of us divided. They want us fighting, and that’s why I don’t buy into any of it.’

Audrina Patridge 

Audrina Patridge is another one of Pratt’s The Hills co-stars who put their support behind him. 

The 41-year-old model lives in Orange County, California, so cannot actually vote for her friend but that did not stop her from backing him publicly.

She told Us Weekly on May 1: ‘He’s very smart. He knew how to work reality TV. I know politics is very different – but I mean, he seems very intelligent and is well educated on what he needs to do.

‘I’m actually excited. He impressed me.’

Patridge went on to explain that she was not sure the mayoral bid was serious at first, but now that she knows that it is, she has full confidence that he would implement change in the major US city if elected.

She said: ‘He impressed me. I listened to some of his interviews, and at first, when I heard, I was like, “Wait, is he really doing it? Is it a joke? Is it real?”

‘But he is, and he is very intelligent, and I think that he would make a lot of change to LA and he would follow through with what he said.’ 

Brody Jenner 

Brody Jenner also starred on the MTV reality show alongside the mayoral candidate.

The 42-year-old son of Caitlin Jenner and Linda Thompson has been vocal in the comment section on many of Pratt’s Instagram posts. 

When Pratt announced he was running in January, Jenner replied: ‘YOU HAVE MY VOTE!!! And every person I know. LEGEND.’

He also commented on a different post: ‘From The Hills to City Hall… the character arc we didn’t know we needed [classical building emoji] #teampratt [fist emoji].’  

Brandon Thomas Lee

Brandon Thomas Lee starred on the reboot of The Hills in 2018.

The 29-year-old son of Pamela Anderson and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee commented on one of Pratt’s posts with three applause emojis.  

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton is a proud LA native and has also voiced her support for Pratt.

The 45-year-old hotel heiress commented on one of the mayoral candidate’s posts last week.

She wrote: ‘Spencer for Mayor! [hands up emoji].’

Joe Rogan

The powerful podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan backed Pratt.

The 58-year-old media personality had Pratt on top-rated podcast The Joe Rogan Experience last month.

Rogan had relocated to Austin, Texas, from Los Angeles in 2020, so he also cannot vote in the election, but he did voice his support.

He said: ‘[Well] I can’t vote for you, but I’m rooting for you. I mean, if I lived in Los Angeles, no question whatsoever, I would vote for you.’

 Megan McCain 

The daughter of late politician John McCain and former panelist on The View, Meghan McCain, revealed that she would vote for Pratt if she could.

The 41-year-old media personality reposted Pratt’s campaign ad on X with the caption: ‘I’m telling you this guy is going to win.’

After watching last week’s Los Angeles mayoral debate, she was in awe of his performance.

McCain wrote: ‘This is not hyperbole – @spencerpratt is the blueprint for how my generation of older millennials needs to communicate and present their ideas and campaign messaging when running for office.

‘He is 10/10 no notes. Absolute raw talent. Killed the debate.’

 Selma Blair

Actress Selma Blair commented on one of Pratt’s Instagram posts simply: ‘Solid.’ 

Diplo 

Popular DJ Diplo – real name Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr – commented on a social media post: ‘Please [prayer hands emoji].’

Kaskade

Another DJ Kaskade – real name Ryan Gary Raddon – has been very vocal on Pratt’s comment section.

On his mayoral run announcement, the 55-year-old musician wrote: ‘Let’s go!’

He later responded to one of Pratt’s posts criticizing incumbent mayor Bass. 

Kaskade replied: ”At this point, who is buying in to Bass’s fairytale narrative?! I am still shocked she  hasn’t resigned!’  

Olivia Culpo

Model and reality star Olivia Culpo first expressed her support for Pratt when she liked his March 22 post.

The 34-year-old model more recently commented a prayer hands emoji on one of his posts.  

Jenny McCarthy 

Television personality and former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy has been vocal on Pratt’s Instagram as she commented on one post: ‘Bravo!!!!’

 James Woods 

James Woods was impressed by the reality star’s debate performance last week.

The 79-year-old actor took to X to write: ‘Spencer Pratt is surprisingly effective, direct, polite, and prepared in tonight’s debate. 

‘The other two have history as their enemy because everything they’ve done has been a catastrophe. He can absolutely win this thing.’

Valentin Chmerkovskiy 

Dancing With The Stars pro Valentin Chmerkovskiy has been very active in the comment section of Pratt’s Instagram.

On one post, the 40-year-old Ukrainian ballroom dancer wrote: ‘You got this, my brother.’

On another, he encouraged the fellow reality star. 

Chmerkovskiy wrote: ‘Your calling brother. You live to serve, as a father as a husband as a friend. You will do the same for this city. ‘   

Perez Hilton 

Perez Hilton has been all over the mayoral candidate’s Instagram.

The 48-year-old media personality wrote: ‘Spencer wants to save Los Angeles! Vote Pratt!’

Jonathan ‘Foodgod’ Cheban 

Kim Kardashian’s BFF Jonathan ‘Foodgod’ Cheban said he would move back to Los Angeles if Pratt were victorious.

The 52-year-old television personality, who resides in Miami, Florida, appeared on Adam Glyn’s TikTok as he discussed the mayoral run.

Cheban said, ‘Spencer Pratt wins, I’m moving back to LA.’

He framed the Southern California city as at a breaking point and is hopeful that the reality star will restore it to its former glory.

Cheban explained: ‘LA needs new energy. Please bring old LA back, because it’s got a heartbeat.

‘Right now, if Spencer doesn’t win, LA is done. I might never go back.’

Amber Rose 

Outspoken MAGA supporter Amber Rose also backed Pratt.

The 42-year-old model commented on one of his posts, ‘Save us!!! [three fire emojis].’

Former Bachelor stars Peter Weber and Nick Viall

Speaking of roses, former stars of The Bachelor, Peter Weber and Nick Viall, both threw their support behind Pratt.

‘I believe in you,’ Weber commented to the fellow reality while Viall wrote: ‘You have my vote.’
