Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh review security after drone strikes

Two back-to-back high-level meetings were chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence minister Rajnath Singh respectively on Friday amid the prevailing border situation and evaluate security arrangements at airports across the country. The meetings come after Pakistan on Thursday night targeted multiple Indian cities using drones and UAVs.

Later during the day, the Centre told all states to give emergency procurement power to the heads of the civil defence authorities so that they can make the required purchases in case of an emergency. The civil defence directorate at Delhi on Friday also carried out a test at the multi-storey PWD building in ITO, where an air raid siren has been installed.

The review meeting was attended by union home secretary Govind Mohan, Director Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Daljit Chawdhary, Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) RS Bhatti, and Director General of Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCAS) Rajesh Nirwan attended the meeting on Friday.
