The Indian Army on Wednesday stopped an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, reported PTI, citing officials as saying.
The incident took place in the Churunda area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir.
An exchange of fire was under way, and further details were awaited, they added.
