A tour van collision left at least seven dead near Yellowstone National Park after both vehicles caught on fire on Thursday evening.
A deadly collision near Yellowstone National Park left seven dead after a tour bus crashed into a Dodge Ram pickup truck, according to Idaho police.
Thursday night at 7.15pm on a highway near Henry’s Lake State Park, 16 miles west of Yellowstone, the two vehicles collided before both caught on fire.
The driver of the pickup truck was reported to have died along with six others in the tour van, which was carrying a group of 14 people in total.
Idaho State Police have not released how many others involved in the crash were injured, and the names of the victims have yet to be released.
Air ambulances and emergency paramedics responded to the scene.
It remains unclear what caused the deadly crash as the investigation remains ongoing.

The pickup truck and tour van collision near Yellowstone left at least seven dead and eight others were transported to hospital, Idaho police said.
Both vehicles erupted into flames after the crash on Thursday evening on a highway near Henry’s Lake state park in eastern Idaho.
Idaho State Police said in a press release that the driver of the Dodge Ram pickup and six people inside the Mercedes passenger van died.
The van was carrying a group of 14 tourists, and the surviving occupants were taken to hospital for their injuries, police spokesman Aaron Snell told The Detroit News.
An investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing.
Idaho State Police said they were still attempting to contact family members of those killed and injured. Their identities have not yet been released.

A two-vehicle collision that killed seven near Yellowstone national park caused the nearby highway to shut down as emergency crews converged on the scene.
After the vehicles exploded into flames at around 7.15pm on Thursday evening, the US 20 was shut down in both directions.
The highway reopened at around 2am on Friday morning.
ISP is leading the investigaiton into the cause of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
Yellowstone crash victims are taken for identification following fiery collision
As investigators continue to determine the cause of the deadly crash, the bodies of the seven confirmed victims were taken to the coroner to be indentified.
The victims were transported to the Fremont County Coroner’s Office, where the cause of their death will be determined and their names will be released following familiy notification.
At least seven were killed in the crash, including six passengers on the tour bus and the driver of the pickup truck.
The tour van was carrying a total of 14 people, and it remains unclear how many others sustained injuries.

Fire crews and a medical helicopter responded while smoke and flames blazed on the road, East Idaho News reported.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 7.15pm on Thursday evening, around 16 miles west of Yellowstone naitonal park.
A Dodge red pickup truck was seen mangled from the crash next to the raging fire.
