Aussie woman wins $60million after changing a single number on her Powerball ticket before the draw

An Aussie woman has become an overnight millionaire after making a last-minute number change on her ticket.

The NSW woman, from Queanbeyan in the state’s south-east, matched all seven numbers and the Powerball number in draw 1567 on Thursday night.

Her PowerHit entry also won division two 19 times.

This means the woman takes home a total prize of $60,638,678.35.

‘Oh my god! Holy c**p!’ the woman said when she answered the life-changing call.

‘I’m just sitting here watching the women’s State of Origin.

‘I actually changed one of the numbers on the PowerHit. I did a fast select on the ticket, but then thought I had too many numbers in the 30s.

‘I had 33 and 34, so I took out 33 and made it 5. How insane is that!’

The woman said she was young enough to be able to enjoy the prize money and ensure her loved ones were comfortable for the rest of their lives.

She plans to keep working, but not full-time.

‘Up until 10 minutes ago, I had a mortgage,’ she said.

Up to 30 division two winners each pocketed $33,614.65, while 103 players each won $12,109.50 in division three.

So far in 2026, eight Powerball division one winners have taken home $205 million.

Four were in New South Wales, three in Victoria and one in Western Australia.
