The Colorado Rockies have confirmed that their game against the New York Mets on Monday has been moved forward due to expected inclement weather.
The team confirmed the news on Sunday afternoon following reports of potential snow and rain downpour that could hit Coors Field in Denver for the series opener.
The game had initially been scheduled to begin at 8:40pm, however, the Rockies have since confirmed that it’s been pushed up to 5:40pm due to the weather concerns.
It remains to be seen whether further changes will be made to the schedule for the series, with near-freezing temperatures set to last throughout the week.
The two teams are slated to play the middle game of the series on Tuesday night, before a series finale currently scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
The Rockies confirmed that all tickets purchased for the game on May 4 will remain valid for the rescheduled start time.

When the Mets arrive in Denver, they will be keen to maintain their recent form after securing a series win over the Angels, after bringing an end to their losing streak.
Despite enduring a 12-game losing streak over the last month, the franchise plan to stick with embattled manager Carlos Mendoza.
President of baseball operations David Stearns recently informed Mendoza that his job is safe.
‘We know our record is not what we want, and we know we are capable of more,’ Stearns told MLB.com.
However, the decision maker for the Mets added: ‘We don’t view this as a manager problem, and we don’t intend to make a change.’
It’s the worst run through the first 31 games that the Mets have had since 1981. In addition to ’81, the only team worse than this year’s squad was the 1964 Mets.
Mendoza saw a majority of his coaching staff depart in the offseason after the Mets fell one game short of the 2025 postseason.

Despite starting the season with the best record in baseball, the Mets fell apart in the second half of the campaign.
This is Mendoza’s final season in a three-year contract which includes a 2027 club option.
Keeping Mendoza may come as a surprise considering the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies – who are struggling, but are better than the Mets – fired their respective managers within the past week and a half.
Meanwhile, the Rockies have currently lost four in a row and are come into the game following a series sweet by the Atlanta Braves.
