Cassie’s husband Alex Fine breaks silence on Diddy trial as he shares emotional statement in support of wife

Cassie Ventura’s husband has spoken out to publicly express his admiration for his wife after she finished an intense four days of giving testimony against her former partner Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

Alex Fine, who married Ventura in 2019, issued a heartfelt statement after days of hearing his wife recount the trauma she endured during her relationship with the music mogul who faces trial for sex trafficking charges.

Combs denies all charges against him. If found guilty, the rap mogul could spend decades behind bars.

In the powerful message, Fine expressed pride and profound love for Ventura, as well as anger toward those who tried to break her spirit.

His statement, which was read by attorney Douglas Wigdor on Friday, shed light on the emotional rollercoaster he experienced while sitting through the trial.

‘Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife, freeing herself of her past,’ Fine said, acknowledging the intense scrutiny both he and Ventura have faced throughout the trial.

In his message, Fine acknowledged the speculation surrounding his emotions as he listened to his wife’s testimony.

‘There has been speculation online surrounding how it must feel for me to sit there and listen to my wife’s testimony. I have felt so many things sitting there,’ Fine wrote.

He revealed that while it was a painful experience, it also filled him with pride.

‘I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass,’ Fine wrote, adding that he also experienced ‘profound anger’ at the man who subjected Ventura to years of abuse.

He spoke directly to Diddy and those who enabled his behavior: ‘You did not break her spirit nor her smile that lights up every room,’ Fine emphasized.

‘You did not break the souls of a mother who gives the best hugs and plays the silliest games with our little girls. You did not break the woman who has made me a better man.’

Throughout the statement, Fine made it clear that Ventura’s strength was the result of her own hard work and determination, rather than anyone saving her.

‘I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself,’ he continued. ‘Cassie saved Cassie. She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence, and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her.’

Fine also expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received throughout the legal proceedings, while emphasizing that the couple is now focused on moving forward.

‘Her life is now surrounded by love, laughter, and our family. This horrific chapter is forever put behind us,’ Fine wrote.

He concluded the statement with a request for privacy as the couple prepares to welcome their son into a world that is now ‘safer because of his mom.’

Ventura’s testimony during the trial painted a harrowing picture of her years with Diddy, describing the emotional and physical abuse she allegedly endured.

On Friday, Combs’ attorneys concluded their cross-examination of his ex-girlfriend and main accuser Cassie Ventura.

His attorney Anna Estevao resumed her cross examination with questions related to the March 2016 recording of Combs attacking Ventura at the elevator bank of a Los Angeles hotel, at one point garnering a hug from the rapper.

In it, Combs can be seen pulling Ventura to the floor, kicking her and dragging her into a hotel hallway.

Estevao had Ventura read aloud a text message in which she complained that Combs was out of control from drugs and alcohol that day.

In the message, Ventura told Combs: ‘I’m not a rag doll. I’m somebody’s child.’

Diddy’s team did their best to undermine the jury’s sympathy for Ventura.

They exposed more text messages where she declared her love for the rapper, despite the abuse she says she suffered, and prompted her to admit that she neither ‘hated’ the rapper when the alleged abuse happened, nor does she ‘hate him’ today.

She confirmed that they continued their relationship even after he beat her, and even cheated on her now husband with Diddy.

Ventura, who is eight months pregnant, fought back with a calm and composed demeanor.

She said Diddy raped her, was an out-of-control drug addict, and someone she felt she couldn’t leave.

Judge Arun Subramanian admonished the defense for continuing to file documents well into the night during the trial.

‘Letters have come in at 3am… I’ve come in early,’ he said on Friday. ‘This is a problem, we’re running out of time to address issues’.

Subramanian also complained to lawyers during the 10-minute break that Diddy Estevao’s cross examination has been interrupted too often by disputes over evidence.

The judge has tried to clear the way for jurors to be brought in on time for what was hoped to be Ventura’s last day on the witness stand.

Jurors heard a recording of a distressed Ventura screaming at a friend who said he had seen a video of her performing sex acts.

In the recording, made by Ventura in 2013, the man claimed to have the video on his phone. Ventura is heard pleading to see the video and then threatening to kill him if it became public.

‘I’ve never killed anyone in my life, but I will kill you,’ Ventura told the man, punctuating her threats with profanity.

Ventura acknowledged in her testimony that Combs subsequently made efforts to keep the video private.

She later testified that she broke up with Diddy for good in August 2018 after she saw a photo of him with another woman he’d been dating for the last few years of their decade-long relationship.

‘I just don’t trust anymore. That last shot put the nail in the coffin,’ Casse texted Combs, referring to the photo of Combs with a woman identified in court as Gina.

‘I promised myself I wouldn’t be with you anymore if you did that to me again,’ Ventura wrote, telling Combs ‘you lied to me’ and ‘she never went away.’

Soon after, Ventura said, she started dating her now husband, Alex Fine.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges. His defense says that, although he could be violent, nothing he did amounted to a criminal enterprise. Combs insists all the sex was consensual. Pictured: Combs listens as lawyer Anna Estevao cross-examines Ventura during the sex trafficking trial in New York City on May 15

Though Ventura refused to say she hated the mogul, even after everything they’d been through.

‘I don’t hate him,’ Ventura replied when asked if she hated Diddy.

When asked if she still had love for Combs, she replied: ‘I have love for the past and what it was.’

Prosecutors allege that Combs used his fame and fortune to orchestrate an empire of exploitation, coercing women into abusive sex parties.

His lawyers argue that all the sexual acts were consensual, and although he could be violent, he never veered into sex trafficking and racketeering.
