Champions League fans blast ‘annoying’ violin act just moments before final after Linkin Park performed ahead of PSG vs Inter Milan clash

Champions League final viewers brutally blasted the ‘annoying’ violin act prior to kick-off between Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain in Munich.

German violin maestro David Garrett performed during the pre-match pomp and circumstance, presenting a rearranged version of the White Stripes hit Seven Nation Army while Javier Pastore and Javier Zanetti brought out the trophy.

Sparks flew just moments earlier when US rock giants Linkin Park delivered a rip-roaring set, stoking up the atmosphere at the Allianz Arena ahead of the main event.

Seven Nation Army, released in 2003, has become an undisputed sporting anthem but Garrett’s rendition appears to have gone down like a lead balloon.

UEFA declared the bizarre performance was designed to ‘encapsulate the excitement and artistry of the moment, echoing the anticipation’.

However, social media users on X clearly couldn’t disagree more.

‘Get Linkin Park back out,’ one user said. ‘This violin jobbie’s annoying.’

Making a savage dig at the performer, another wrote: ‘Why’s Robbie Savage on the pitch playing the violin before the Champions League final?’

‘Somebody has run onto the pitch with a violin,’ a third said. ‘Get her off!’

‘Why’s Karius playing the violin?’ asked a fourth, in another swipe at Garrett.

A fifth added: ‘This guy on the violin is no @EvngelineViolin!’

However, Dutch legend Marco van Basten was similarly fuming with Linkin Park’s brief set, saying: ‘The Linkin Park performance was garbage, absolutely garbage.

‘It’s a disgrace that UEFA allows this.’

Once the pre-match theatrics were out of the way, PSG raced into a 2-0 lead.

Inter were caught out at the back when Desire Doue laid the ball across to Achraf Hakimi to tap home, before starlet Doue scored the second himself.
