900 thousand citizens benefited from chest diseases hospitals within 3 months

 

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the provision of medical and therapeutic services to 902,635 citizens in chest diseases hospitals across the governorates of the Republic, during the period from January to the end of March 2024.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the services provided included 742,779 services in free and economic outpatient clinics, evening clinics and emergency departments, and medical care was provided to 19,687 citizens. In the free inpatient, economic, and intensive care departments, in addition to providing radiology services for 137,370 cases, including (87,229 regular x-rays, 43,106 CT scans, and 7,035 TV x-rays).

 

He pointed out "Abdul Ghaffar" To perform endoscopy for 440 cases between the bronchial and chest, and to perform 693 chest surgeries, including minor, medium, and major surgeries with high skill, pointing out that 1,666 cases were treated via remote diagnosis (Tel Medicine) in chest hospitals (Al-Maamoura, Menouf, Damanhour, and Tanta). , Mansoura, Minya, Assiut, and Kafr El-Sheikh).

 

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Nady, Head of the Central Administration for Therapeutic Medicine, said that within the framework of continuous work to develop the hospitals affiliated with the Ministry, The trial operation of Sadr Al-Ayat Hospital was developed and the internal departments began to operate, providing medical services to 6,576 citizens in free and economic outpatient clinics and evening clinics, providing therapeutic service to 835 patients in emergency and internal departments, and 420 chest x-rays performed during the month of last January.

 

He added that a remote diagnosis unit had been installed at Sadr Hospital in Sohag, in addition to providing Sadr Shebin El-Kom Hospital with a CT scan machine, opening the physical therapy department at Sadr Hospital in Mansoura, and providing Sadr Beni Suef Hospital with laser devices in the physical therapy department.

 

For his part, Dr. Wagdi Amin, Director General of the Ministry’s Chest Diseases Department, said that 429 doctors and workers in chest diseases hospitals were trained, as part of health efforts to pay attention to the human element. And the continuous development of the performance of doctors and workers in chest diseases hospitals. Doctors in kidney centers and dialysis units were also trained on the latest methods of early detection of tuberculosis, and the difference between latent and active tuberculosis, as part of the initiative of the National Program to Combat Tuberculosis. 24,029 patients were also examined in dialysis centers in the governorates. Work is underway to include the rest of the dialysis centers in hospitals (the General Authority for Health Insurance, the Secretariat of Specialized Medical Centers, the Hospitals and Educational Institutes Authority, and the Treatment Institution).

 

"Amin" To train doctors, pharmacists and nursing teams on methods of detecting tuberculosis, how to register and direct a tuberculosis patient, calculate disease indicators, diagnosis and treatment, in addition to training on how to manage medicines and purchases for tuberculosis, pointing to training doctors on how to complete the patient’s unified medical file, in a manner consistent with linking Services provided in hospitals, to facilitate medical procedures and reduce treatment costs. Doctors have also been trained in the basics of pulmonary medicine, breathing functions, and respiratory intensive care.
