Sydney commuters have had to evacuate from trains after a self-harm incident on a platform.
NSW Police have said there was an urgent incident at Central Station at about 4:40pm on Thursday.
The condition of the individual involved remains unknown.
Transport for NSW has told passengers to allow extra travel time due to an incident requiring emergency services at the station.
Stops and platforms are expected to change for some services and people have been told to listen for announcement and check transport apps before travelling.
A commuter has said they were ‘stuck for an unknown amount of time’ on their train on which an announcement said: ‘We will get through this together’.
Another passenger said trains are not moving at the station and a conductor on a speaker said people will be ‘stranded for a while’.
‘We’ve been asked to evacuate through the front carriage via a driver’s door,’ they said.
Sydney Trains’ T1 North Shore and Western Line, T2 Leppington and Inner West Line and T3 Liverpool and Inner West Line have been impacted.
