Conan O’Brien Mocks Streaming Culture With Satirical Sketch Featuring Cameo From Martin Scorsese

Are you tired of streaming movies from your couch? Conan O’Brien has a solution for you.
In a satirical sketch slamming streaming culture, the Oscars host introduced a new business venture called “CinemaStreams,” pioneering a “building for movies” in which “we took 800 smartphones and glued them all together and made one giant smartphone.”
When asked how an individual would “hold” the screen, O’Brien answered: “The building holds it.”
The Saturday Night Live-esque bit provided a humorous alternative of sorts to Nicole Kidman’s beloved AMC ad, in which she speaks of the power of film in fostering human connection. When asked by the sketch’s actors if CinemaStreams didn’t just constitute a movie theater, O’Brien veered onto a different topic, saying that the product was a “trademark of Conan O’Brien in partnership with the Sackler family [recently ordered to pay billions in restitution to opioid victims] and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
In a welcome and surprise cameo, Martin Scorsese appeared onscreen at the sketch’s end to quip: “Tell them Marty sent you.”
As the comedian transitioned away from the skit back to the awards ceremony, he joked that Scorsese’s cut of the satirical commercial was “6 hours long,” poking fun at the auteur’s long runtimes for projects such as Killers of the Flower Moon and The Irishman.
