Cooper Flagg finds out his NBA destination as No 1 pick is revealed in Draft Lottery

In an absolutely shocking turn of events, the Dallas Mavericks have won the NBA Draft Lottery for the first time in franchise history and have earned the right to select first.

Despite holding only a 1.8 percent chance of winning the top overall pick, Dallas won the lottery ahead of their in-state rivals, the San Antonio Spurs.

Dallas has only picked first overall once in their history – in 1981, prior to the lottery being implemented. With that pick, they selected forward Mark Aguirre.

While the entire pool of NBA prospects is considered to be a very talented group, the prize of the bunch is a generational talent in the form of former Duke freshman Cooper Flagg.

The Maine native will almost assuredly be the first selection in the draft when it takes place on June 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
