Costco issues urgent recall over viral treat people have gone wild for

Rolling Pin Baking Company has recalled its popular Dubai Style Chocolate sold at Costco after a packaging error listed the wrong ingredient.

The label said the snack contained gluten, but in fact it includes wheat — a potential allergen.

The manufacturer announced the recall on Costco’s website last week after discovering the error.

The affected product can be identified by code #1932972 above the barcode and was sold between May 1 and August 29.

‘We assess the health risk to be minimal as gluten is listed on the allergen statement and gluten is found in wheat,’ wrote Rolling Pin Baking Company quality assurance director Eddie Dayan.

The impacted items’ include code #1932972 above the bar code on the back of each package. The chocolate was sold at Costco between May 1 and August 29.

Shoppers who own the recalled chocolate are advised to return it to Costco for a full refund.

Anyone experiencing allergic reactions such as hives, trouble breathing, or nausea is urged to call 911. No illnesses or deaths have been reported so far.

Dubai-style chocolates have been a must-buy Costco product for months.

‘At my store, I’ve noticed lots of people coming in specifically to buy this item,’ said Costco employee Veronica Thatcher.

‘When we first started stocking the chocolates, they sold out within two days.’

Several other Costco products were recalled this year due to concerns of illnesses or deaths — including salsas with possible wood contamination.

The culprit is thought to be cilantro grown by SubHerb Farms in Turlock, California, that were found to be contaminated with wood.

Costco also advised shoppers to stop using certain Anker Power Bank products after experts found potential issues with lithium-ion battery cells from single vendors.

Another item Costco urged members to get rid of immediately is BowFlex adjustable dumbbells due to the possibility of weight plates dislodging from the handle during use.

Daily Mail has reached out to Rolling Pin Baking Company for a recall update and is awaiting response.
