Dave Grohl and betrayed wife Jordyn present united front at 2026 MTV VMAs after love child drama rocked marriage

Dave Grohl and his wife Jordyn Blum presented a united front Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards, two years after his love child scandal rocked their marriage.

Grohl, 57, and Blum, 50, exchanged vows in 2003 and have since welcomed three daughters into the world – Violet, 20, Harper, 17, and Ophelia, 12.

In September 2024, he became a lightning rod of controversy when he publicly confessed he had fathered another daughter ‘outside of my marriage.’

It emerged the following February that the mother of his youngest child was a rock ‘n’ roll fan called Jennifer Young who was from Florida but is now based in Los Angeles.

By that September, an insider revealed that Blum had ‘forgiven’ Grohl and that the couple were once again ‘very happy,’ according to People.

They projected an image of marital harmony on Sunday’s red carpet at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, where Blum proudly wore Grohl’s ring.

The couple also brought along two of their daughters to the red carpet, with the foursome exuding familial bliss on the red carpet.

Grohl wrapped an arm tightly around his wife and flashed a broad smile while Blum, who matched him in head-to-toe black, grinned at his side.

He opted for classic rocker chic, throwing a fashionably rumpled leather jacket on over his turtleneck and rounding off the look with jeans and leather shoes.

Meanwhile Blum’s dress was skintight over the waist, emphasizing her enviably svelte frame, while featuring a skirt that billowed outwards.

Grohl was on hand to accept the event’s highest honor, the Video Vanguard Award, as part of Nirvana, the band in which he first became a star in the 1990s.

Nirvana dissolved after the band’s frontman Kurt Cobain shot himself in 1994 at the denouement of a long spiral into addiction and depression.

During his time on Sunday’s red carpet, Grohl reunited with his fellow surviving members of Nirvana, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.

Although Grohl has admitted that the child he sired out of wedlock is a girl, he has otherwise afforded her a degree of privacy by refraining from disclosing her name.

However the little girl’s mother has publicly divulged that the baby was born on August 1, 2024, the month before Grohl took the news public, via Page Six.

Young noted that her daughter’s name was being kept under wraps ‘because there’s some really angry fans. Protecting her identity is really important.’

Although Young has no public social media pages and her present profession remains a mystery, she is known to have been a co-creator and writer of a series of comic books entitled Cannibal, according to League of Comic Books.

Last year, an insider indicated Grohl and Blum ‘never wanted a divorce,’ as they were ‘great parents’ and ‘idea of splitting up their family was too sad for both of them.’

Blum was said to have been ‘distraught’ at the news of the new baby, but the source noted that ‘the betrayal was painful for both of them.’

Grohl was said to have ‘felt terrible and begged her to forgive him,’ while Blum’s friends purportedly ‘encouraged her to fight.’

When he publicly announced the birth of his youngest daughter, Grohl insisted both that he intended to be a ‘loving and supportive parent to her’ and that he was taking steps to ‘regain’ the ‘trust and forgiveness’ of his wife and their children.

In the immediate aftermath of the bombshell revelation, sources indicated Blum had been aware of the development for ‘a while’ before it went public, via People.

An insider exclusively informed the Daily Mail the following month that Blum was in a ‘state of confusion’ about the future of her relationship.

‘One day Jordyn Blum is ditching her wedding ring and vowing divorce from cheating husband Dave Grohl,’ said the source. ‘The next she’s at home wearing the ring and sobbing because she doesn’t want the marriage to end.’

By November 2024, an insider said Grohl was ‘no longer working with a divorce attorney and instead hoping to work things out with his wife,’ according to People. 

In March 2025, the couple were said to be in ‘counseling,’ with Grohl ‘doing anything he can to win back Jordyn’s trust,’ per Us Weekly.
