Two masked people appeared to get engaged after scaling the Empire State Building on Wednesday, 1 July.

The pair had climbed to the top of the 1,454ft-tall skyscraper, holding up a banner that appeared to read “When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace,” according to the New York Post.

New York City police and building security responded to the scene. The identities of those involved are not yet known. It is not clear how the individuals reached the top of the building.
