Everyone Who Got Cut From The Devil Wears Prada 2, From Sydney Sweeney To The Devil Herself

We’re gearing up for the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2, and while most of its OG stars will return, multiple expected cameo appearances were reportedly cut from the final version of the sequel.
The original core four — Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci — are all returning for the movie (phew!), and they were initially going to be joined by a bunch of rumoured and officially-announced stars.
But in the lead up to the premiere, we’re learning that a few of those names and characters were nixed from the movie. To avoid moving at a glacial pace (for you know how that thrills me), here are all the castmates reportedly cut from The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Sydney Sweeney
An insider claimed that Sydney Sweeney’s slated cameo in the Devil Wears Prada 2 was nixed because it didn’t align with the sequence filmmakers were going for. Sweeney was reportedly set to appear as a version of herself being styled by Blunt’s character Emily, but the three-minute scene was removed as a “creative decision”.
The insider added that the film’s team were appreciative of Sweeney’s contribution, even if it didn’t make the final cut. Sweeney was snapped sneaking onto set with Blunt in New York City in August 2025, but the actress’ fans will have to make do with just those pap shots.
Jessica Chastain
This is more of a debunked theory than an actual cameo cut, since Jessica Chastain was never officially announced in the cast of Devil Wears Prada 2. Still, those persistent rumours of her appearance — emerging after she was seen on set during principle photography — were proven false, since the actress reportedly never even filmed a scene.
Anna Wintour
The titular devil herself, Anna Wintour, played coy about whether she’d appear in the sequel, telling reporters it was “for you to find out” if she’d share the screen with the fictionalised version of herself. But despite the teases, it has since been confirmed Wintour won’t appear in the final cut of The Devil Wears Prada 2, though she did film a brief scene.
Director David Frankel confirmed the former Vogue editor shot what he called a “gag take” that wasn’t able to be used because Wintour missed her cue and appeared partially out of focus. “I can’t ask Anna to do take two,” Frankel explained on the Back Row podcast.
Fans still eager to see the real-life Miranda Priestly can rest assured: her cameo will feature as a bonus feature on streaming.
Conrad Ricamora
In a different version of the film, How To Get Away With Murder’s Conrad Ricamora played Andy Sachs’ (Anne Hathaway) roommate. His character was reportedly removed altogether when test screen audiences questioned why Andy would have a roommate, with Tracie Thoms’ character — who featured in the first movie — taking the place as Andy’s bestie.

While the loss of those names might be upsetting, there’s still a bunch of new stars who will appear in the movie, including Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, and B.J. Novak, as well as model Ashley Graham, TikToker Caleb Heron, designer Donatella Versace, pop star Lady Gaga and Pauline Chalamet (sister of Timothée).
Oh, Australia is also getting a shout via Colin From Accounts’ Patrick Brammel, who is playing Andy’s love interest. That’s enough stars to warrant its own constellation, so we’re still keen to be well and truly sat when The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits Aussie screens on April 30.
