What Went Down At Liquid I.V.’s Funnest Fun Run: Puppies, Massages & A Glam Bar
Last week’s Liquid I.V. Funnest Fun Run took place at Sydney’s Centennial Park. Designed to make running fun, the bar was high, and boy was it met. The event was rife with fun activations, plenty of chances to stay hydrated, and good vibes galore.
If you missed out, fear not, as I was on the ground and got to experience the event firsthand.
Here’s everything that you missed. Proceed at your own FOMO-inducing risk.
The setup
The meeting point for the start of the run was Sydney’s Centennial Homestead. It’s a pretty popular wedding venue, so you can only imagine the gorg setup that we were met with.

There were Liquid I.V. deck chairs perched in the sun, right next to the starting line. Inside, attendees found customisable race bibs, goodie bags, a DJ to keep the vibes high, and a Liquid I.V. hydration station.
Liquid I.V. is an electrolyte drink mix formulated to help you hydrate faster than water alone, and it comes in five delicious flavours. Use that tidbit as you will.
After grabbing my race bib, it was GO time. When my group was called up, we engaged in a quick but thorough warm-up session and ran through some dynamic stretches to prepare. Then, we were off!
Yoga, massages, a glam bar — the works
Now, the running was surprisingly painless. As a self-proclaimed mediocre runner at best, I was expecting severe breathing issues, but instead I was met with a nice cool breeze and almost instant serotonin.
It felt like we had only been running for a minute before we reached our first stop — the yoga station. There was an instructor up the front who guided us through a 10-minute reset by engaging in some hip-opening stretches and breathing exercises.
The running resumed until we reached our next station, which was the combined glam bar and massage area. I got the works — a quick shoulder and neck massage, a face mask, face mist, and sunscreen to top it all off. Not only was it a brief running reprieve, it also felt pretty damn refreshing.

Yes, there were puppies — so many puppies!
After we continued through the course, we reached our final (and my favourite) stop — the puppy station.
It’s hard to describe what this was like, but a picture says a thousand words. I, and everyone around me, was truly in their element.

Upon sanitising, we got to enter the pop-up and cuddle with as many puppies as we liked. There were toys available, and heaps of mirrors for the cutest selfies you could imagine.
I truly didn’t want to leave, but the end of the race was calling my name. Alas, I bid adieu to some of my favourite puppies ever and carried on.
Finishing up, the vibes were high
Pretty soon after, we arrived back at the finish line. I’ve never actually run a proper race before, and whilst this was definitely not your average fun run, it still felt great to pin a bib on, run through the park, and make it to the finish line in one piece.
We celebrated back at Centennial Homestead with a good boogie, some hors d’oeuvres, and tons of good energy all ‘round.

As fun as all the stops along the way were, my main takeaway from the afternoon is that the running itself was actually a lot more enjoyable than I expected.
Staying motivated to run all the time is tough, but it’s safe to say that this kickstarted it again. I was energised, and quite frankly, elated.
Plus — I got to cuddle a whole heap of puppies. I mean, c’mon. I rest my case.
