Frantic search for missing baby as the bodies of mother and toddler are pulled from the ocean after tragic cliff fall
A search is underway for a three-month-old baby after a woman and two children fell from a cliff.
Police have located the bodies of the mother, a 36-year-old woman, and toddler, 13 moths old, following the fall at Port MacDonnell, on South Australia’s east coast, on Monday.
Emergency services were called to Cape Northumberland Rd following reports of an empty vehicle found with its engine running about 11.15am, The Advertiser reported.
Two local fishermen helped recover the bodies of the mother, from nearby Compton, and toddler, her child.
It’s understood the search for the baby is still underway. Two SES units are assisting as well as drones, helicopters and a rescue plane from Melbourne.
SA Police asked the public to report sightings of a White Isuzu MUX, SA Registration S592BJR, to Crime Stoppers.
Detectives from Major Crime Investigation Branch and specialist officers from Forensic Response Section are assisting the investigation.
