Fresh tragedy for widow of meth-crazed celebrity dentist Dr Steven Lin as her brother dies ‘horrifically’ during routine surgery – just months after her ex-husband was shot dead during knife rampage

The ex-wife of disgraced celebrity dentist Dr Steven Lin, shot dead by police during a meth-fuelled rampage in Sydney, has suffered another blow just months later.

Cassandra Lin, who has previously said she was abused by Lin during their marriage, has now been left heartbroken by the death of her brother, Christopher Jenkins.

Mr Jenkins, 40, died on Thursday morning while undergoing routine ear, nose and throat  surgery, believed to be addressing some snoring issues.

‘I am simply broken and have no idea how I’m meant to go on without him,’ Ms Lin told Daily Mail.

Ms Lin, 37, first revealed the news on Instagram, posting a series of photographs of the pair together throughout the years and of him with her children.

‘It is with profound and unimaginable heartbreak that I share the sudden and tragic passing of my brother, Christopher,’ she wrote.

‘He died horrifically, following complications from elective ENT surgery. All he wanted was a good night’s sleep.’

Ms Lin said her brother, a commercial funding specialist at Balmain Group, had been far more than just a relative to her.

‘To call him my brother feels far too small for what he was to me,’ she said.

‘He was my sibling soulmate, my protector, my safest place and the person I loved most in this world.

‘As children we were close, but our bond only grew stronger as adults, as family was everything to him.

‘We became each other’s constant. I was the centre of his world, and he was the centre of mine.’

Ms Lin said she was struggling to comprehend life without him.

‘The loss of him is impossible to put into words,’ she added.

‘I don’t know how to imagine this life without his laughter, his guidance, his unwavering love, and the comfort of knowing he was always there.

‘And even though I feel broken, and there are no words to describe the immense pain I am feeling, I am endlessly grateful for every moment we shared and for the privilege of being loved by him.

‘He was truly one of a kind, with the largest heart, and the space he leaves behind can never be filled.’

She added: ‘Please keep our family in your thoughts as we try to navigate this unimaginable loss.

‘I love you, Christopher, always and forever.’

Ms Lin’s post was flooded with sympathetic messages of support from friends and well-wishers.

Mr Jenkins’ death comes after Ms Lin’s ex-husband was gunned down by police in March after he attacked two female strangers while armed with a knife in Sydney’s Potts Point.

It was the closing chapter of a life that had fallen from dazzling heights to utter despair.

By the time he died, Lin, 41, had a disturbing history of stalking, assault, choking and repeatedly breaching apprehended violence orders.

Friends claim his drug-fuelled behaviour spiralled following the breakdown of his marriage, amid affairs, deception and increasingly erratic conduct.

In an open letter read at his funeral, Ms Lin said: ‘We had it all – our little family felt whole and unbreakable…[then] my world came crashing down.

‘I discovered the life you had been living behind my back. The affairs. The secrets. The abuse. The child you fathered that I knew nothing about.’

In the letter, later posted to Instagram, Ms Lin said she had never recovered from uncovering the truth about his conduct.

Lin became a superstar dentist after authoring his global bestseller The Dental Diet about the importance of dental health and good nutrition for brain function and overall wellness.

He had given TED talks, owned two successful practices on the NSW Central Coast and often flew to the US to appear on TV talk shows about his specialist field.

But then the pressure of his fame caused him to spiral into an ultimately fatal meth habit, which cost him everything.

During his addiction, he threatened to kill his ex-wife and mother of his five children, as well as the woman with whom he had an affair and fathered a sixth child.

‘I will slit your throat and rip your head off and hang your body in the garage,’ Lin had told his wife in September 2024 during an earlier ice bender.

By then, the Lins had already separated, and she was continuing their practice with a new dentist.

In addition to trying to keep the business running, she was also caring for their young children in the family’s $5million home on the Central Coast.
