Gary Sweet breaks down in tears as co-star gets booted from the jungle in moving episode of I’m A Celebrity

Gary Sweet broke down in tears during Wednesday’s episode of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia.

The Australian acting legend was heartbroken after his good friend Dyson Heppell was sent home from the jungle.

The pair had competed to stay on the show in a piano challenge, which footballer Dyson won, thereby sending Gary home.

Swiping away tears, Gary shared how close he and Dyson had become in camp as he admitted losing his mate was ‘tough’.

‘Gee, I made a great friend. A great person. A great person,’ Gary said, struggling not to sob.

Dyson took his departure in good spirits but admitted he was disappointed to leave.

‘It’s sad leaving the jungle. Not an ideal scenario,’ Dyson confessed, before addressing Gary.

‘My man Gaz… Absolute star you are, my friend. Absolute pleasure,’ the former Essendon player said.

After leaving the jungle, Dyson admitted that ‘tensions’ had been high in the camp after the stars clashed multiple times.

‘Tensions and emotions certainly got a lot higher, and there was a change in dynamic within camp when we did have to start choosing who was up for eliminations,’ he told Who Magazine.

‘But yeah… we are having a bit of a laugh watching the show back seeing the reactions,’ he added.

Arguments broke out on Monday’s episode after fan favourite Barry Williams was sent home.

The Brady Bunch star was voted off after losing a challenge against Neighbours actress Rebekah Elmaloglou.

Barry took his departure well, but Married At First Sight star Cyrell Paule did not, storming off after accusing her co-stars of favouritism.

Cyrell was placed up for elimination alongside Rebekah and Barry, with the pair’s male campmates revealing they had chosen the two women as they are always embroiled in ‘drama’.

‘It’s bulls**t! There are favourites here, and I am clearly not one of them,’ she raged.

Cyrell stormed off from the camp to calm down, stating that she ‘didn’t want to go cyclone’ on them.

She was calmed down by the women in camp, but said she would neither forgive nor forget what the boys had done.

‘They said Cyrell and I are their least favourites, and that isn’t very nice to hear,’ Rebekah said.

Barry meanwhile bowed out modestly, telling hosts Robert Irwin and Julia Morris being on the show had been his dream come true.

‘It’s safe to say it’s unforgettable. And I embraced every part of it, from the very beginning,’ he said.

‘This was my dream, and it was everything I could have hoped for.’
