‘Gen V’ Will Pay Tribute to Chance Perdomo for Season 2: Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is a time for celebrating fandom — a time of frenzied excitement that much of the cast of Prime Video’s “Gen V” are experiencing for the first time.

“You guys are gonna have the best day of your life,” Hamish Linklater told his “Gen V” co-stars Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, London Thor and Derek Luh during their interview at the Comic Con Variety Studio presented by Google TV before their big panel at the San Diego Convention Center on Friday night.

But the moment is also a bit bittersweet for the cast of the bloody college-set spinoff of the superhero series “The Boys,” as Season 2 pays tribute to the late Chance Perdomo, who was a central player on the show. Perdomo died in a motorcycle accident in March 2024, just before Season 2 started production. So, the show’s creative team revised the plot to honor the 27-year-old actor and his superhero character, Andre Anderson.

“It felt really important,” showrunner Michele Fazekas told Variety about paying tribute to the late star in Season 2, which debuts on Sept. 17. “The thing I’m most proud of, when you watch the entirety of the season, is he is there the whole way, in a way that feels real — because it is real. I’m very proud that we honored him beginning to end.”

Thor shared a similar sentiment, emphasizing that “important” perfectly described the feeling on set. “It felt very important to do. And hard. But I think it was good,” she said, cutting herself off as she began to tear up. “I’m happy that we were all there to do it.”

“The cast, crew and writers did an amazing job,” Luh concurred, choking up. “Banding together and making something special.”

Sinclair spoke last, wiping away tears as she added: “It’s important to honor him and I think we do that.”
