The Met Gala is undoubtedly the most exclusive event of the celebrity calendar. The empress of the event, Miss Anna Wintour, has maintained the secrecy and rarity of the luxurious festivity by instating a no-phones and no social media rule. However, despite the regulations, a heap of celebrities still sneak their phones into the event to snap cheeky lil’ pics.
The rule began to not only keep the event as exclusive as possible, but also to make sure the celebs weren’t on their phones the whole time.
But this year, a whole heap of celebrities said a big fuck you to the no phones rule by smuggling their devices in, resulting in a whole heap of pics on social media.
One of the most brazen examples of celebs breaking the no phones / no social media rule was Megan Thee Stallion, Doechii and WNBA star Angel Reese who shared a video of themselves tasting the food served at the gala.
In the caption, the “Savage” rapper noted that guests are not permitted to bring their phones inside, but “we are doing it”.
I love that rule-breaking energy.
Some celebs attempted to hide their phone use by sneaking off to the bathroom to take selfies with fellow famous friends. The best

My favourite example of rule-breaking was this gorgeous pic below, where Halle Bailey, Sydney Sweeney and Lalisa Manobal (aka Lisa) have literally been papped by the Vogue photographer taking their own selfie.

The same blatant energy was emitted by Lance LePere, Suki Waterhouse, Ugbad Abdi and Michael Kors who were not afraid of snapping a cheeky pic.

Alex Consani and Nicki Minaj channelled bad girl energy by taking this pic surrounded by fellow celebs.

Patrick Schwarzenegger shared a fun lil’ The White Lotus reunion with co-stars Aimee-Lou Wood and Lisa. If only they found Walton Goggins!!!

Honestly, all this rule-breaking is kind of iconic. Although most of us will never see the inside walls of the Met Gala, it’s nice to get a sneaky peek through the eyes of some fun loving celebs.
