Horror as bodies of two men remain trapped in a car after it plunged into the Richmond River – as young woman 22, makes a lucky escape

Emergency crews are this morning working to recover the bodies of two men after their car left the road overnight and plunged into a river.
The car went over a bridge into the Richmond River at Fairy Hill, near Lismore in northern NSW, about 10pm Wednesday.
Miraculously the car’s third occupant, a 22-year-old female passenger, was able to escape the car before it hit the water and is unharmed.
Police Rescue and SES officers are on site and an operation is underway to retrieve the two deceased men from the submerged car.
The ages of the two men are unclear at this stage.
A crime scene has been established at Droneys Bridge and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the single vehicle crash.
Road closures are in place and motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
