India tests new anti-ship missile
The Indian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that India has tested a short-range anti-ship missile based on helicopters.
The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Navy have successfully conducted the first flight tests of a domestically developed naval anti-ship missile launched from a naval helicopter from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur off the coast of Odisha.
The mission accomplished all the tasks assigned to it. The system is the first indigenous air-launched anti-ship missile system for the Indian Navy.
It is noteworthy that the missile followed a specified trajectory, flew over the sea, and reached the predetermined target with a high degree of accuracy.
It is reported that the missile used a lot of new technologies, including a launcher designed for a helicopter.
The missile guidance system includes a modern navigation system and integrated avionics.
