The Follow-up Committee of the Islamic Research Academy held its regular meeting today, headed by Dr. Muhammad Al-Jundi, Secretary-General of the Academy. To discuss a number of important topics related to the mechanisms for developing the external delegation strategy, and enhancing the preaching and scientific role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in various countries of the world, in light of the directives of His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, on the necessity of developing the preaching performance and advancing Al-Azhar’s message globally.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the latest developments in the work on the external delegation file, And proposals to develop the scholarship system in line with the vision of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading moderation and renewing religious discourse, and in a way that ensures keeping pace with the needs of preaching arenas abroad, according to well-thought-out plans that take into account the nature of each society and its local culture.
The committee also discussed innovations in the preaching aspect, and mechanisms for improving the field performance of Al-Azhar preachers and missions, through specialized training programs, And institutional partnerships that contribute to expanding the scope of the influence of Al-Azhar’s advocacy discourse globally, and consolidating its image based on moderation and coexistence.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Secretary-General directed the continued close follow-up of the implementation of the agreed-upon recommendations, stressing that the follow-up committee represents one of the important pillars in developing the administrative and advocacy work of the complex, including It enhances the presence of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and its religious and scientific leadership at the local and international levels.
