Jon Bon Jovi, 64, abruptly stops NYC concert and tells audience he is ‘hurt’ before leaving the stage
Jon Bon Jovi abruptly halted his concert in Madison Square Garden on Thursday as he told fans in attendance that he was ‘hurt’ before departing the stage.
The 64-year-old rocker, who is currently in the midst of his band Bon Jovi’s Forever Tour, had been taking part in night eight of the group’s nine-day residency at the iconic venue in New York City.
However, after performing the hit track Livin’ On A Prayer, the singer announced that he could not continue.
An eyewitness claimed to Page Six that the star told the crowd, ‘I’m sorry, I’m hurt and you’re not getting the best of me.’
The music artist then encouraged attendees to not discard their tickets as he shared plans to reschedule.
‘Don’t throw away your ticket stubs, I’m gonna figure something out, okay? Just hold onto it, we’ll figure out how to reschedule.’

Bon Jovi added that he would ‘have to cool it for the night’ but told fans that he still felt ‘great.’
Daily Mail has reached out to reps of Bon Jovi for comment, but has yet to hear back.
Jerry Braden, who is the host of the Jon Bon Jovi Discussions podcast, posted to X that the rocker was battling a sinus infection.
‘Due to a sinus infection, Jon couldn’t sing the end of Bed of Roses & let the audience sing.’
Braden added, ‘He said the internet trolls can have at it tomorrow, but thanked the supportive fans for having his back Fans at the show (and online fans) are supporting you We Believe in you.’
The band’s Forever Tour officially kicked off on July 7 at Madison Square Garden with the final night at the venue slated for July 26.
The group will then travel to Edinburgh for a concert on August 28, followed by a three-night stint at Wembley Stadium beginning on September 4.
Bon Jovi took to Instagram earlier this month ahead of the opening tour date, four years after he underwent surgery to fix a damaged vocal cord.

‘A lot of hard work and talented people helped get us here.. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in building the Forever Tour,’ he wrote to his nearly three million followers. ‘Now it’s our turn to do what we do best Let’s do it boys!!’
At the beginning of the show on opening night of the tour, Bon Jovi sang the first line of the 1967 Beatles song With a Little Help from My Friends, per People.
Alluding to his surgery, he sang the line, ‘What would you do if I sang out of tune?’
Elsewhere in the concert, the beloved singer reflected, ‘I haven’t heard the roar of a crowd in four years and I didn’t know if I would remember what that was like.’
He added that he was ‘grateful and humbled by this whole ordeal.’
According to the outlet, the band had performed for over two hours and had a 21-song set list.
Bon Jovi gave fans an update about his voice less than one month ago, after previously saying in 2024 that he did not know if he would be able to tour again following the ordeal.
The star revealed to People in June, ‘I’m fully recovered. It was longer than I’d ever expected, but it had to be right. We never lost faith.’

He recalled the shock of finding out his cord was impaired.
‘I’d often joked and said the only thing that’s ever been up my nose was my finger. I never did anything to hurt the cords; I didn’t have any excesses,’ he shared.
‘I’m a trained vocalist. I’ve practiced the craft,’ the entertainer explained. ‘So when a doctor had to explain to me that one of the cords was literally atrophying, it was confusing.’
Bon Jovi had a vocal fold medialization procedure (also known as thyroplasty) done in the summer of 2022.
He further opened up about the rare throat surgery during a cover story for AARP’s June/July 2024 issue.
While talking to the outlet, the singer shared his initial reaction to potentially suffering from vocal loss.
‘People had to talk me off the ledge, because you’re like, “I didn’t do anything wrong! What’s wrong?”‘ he expressed.
Lip-syncing and Auto-tune was not an option for the singer when it came to live performances, with the star stating, ‘I’d rather get hit by a bus on the highway.’
