A few weeks after what would have been his 32nd birthday, Liam Payne’s former girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, has shared AI-generated images of herself with the late singer.

Cassidy, who dated the One Direction bandmate right up until his tragic death last October, took to her Instagram Stories earlier this week to repost a series of images created by a fan with the assist of AI.

All three pictures see the pair hugging in front of a white curtain background, with Cassidy in a pink dress and Payne smiling while embracing her in a salmon blazer.
Cassidy — who has been open about the toll of Payne’s death on social media — thanked the fan who created the images and reflected on her reaction to them in the caption of her post, shared to her over 900,000 followers.
“Thanks for making these,” she wrote, “AI is such a blessing and a curse.”

It comes just weeks after Cassidy again honoured her late boyfriend with social media posts on his birthday, sharing clips and photos of herself and Payne in celebration of what would have been the day he turned 32 on August 29.
In one post, which included footage of the pair’s travels throughout their two-year relationship, Cassidy said she “wish[ed] we could celebrate together”, while another saw her “cherish the beautiful times we’ve had” under images of them hugging and posing for photos.
Cassidy had been vacationing with Payne in Buenos Aires days before his death.
The pop star died from the multiple traumas he sustained after falling from the second floor of a balcony in the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.

Payne was said to be in a drugged state at the time of his death, with authorities launching an investigation that led to charges for five people, including hotel employees who admitted to using and supplying drugs to the singer.
Cassidy was among those to pay tribute to Payne following his passing, with his former One Direction bandmates also reacting to the news as well as Justin Bieber, Rita Ora, and Simon Cowell — a judge on the competition show X-Factor that first catapulted One Direction to fame.
“Me and Kate to marry within a year / engaged and together forever,” Payne had written in a week-old note shared by Cassidy soon after his death.
More recently, Payne appeared posthumously as a judge in the TV series Building the Band, which landed on Netflix in June.
