Legendary NBA coach Doug Moe dies aged 87 as ‘devastated’ Denver Nuggets pay heartfelt tribute

Iconic Denver Nuggets coach Doug Moe has died at the age of 87.

Moe was at the helm in Denver between 1980 and 1990 before returning at the end of his career to spend another half-decade as assistant coach. On Tuesday, the Nuggets paid a heartfelt tribute to a ‘one-of-a-kind’ leader.

‘The Denver Nuggets organization was devastated to learn of the passing of legendary coach Doug Moe… who spearheaded one of the most successful and exciting decades in Nuggets history.’
