MAFS’ Tyson Slammed For ‘Awful’ DMs To Carla From Bankstown

Married At First Sight intruder Tyson Gordon has been slammed on social media after he appeared to send offensive messages to Sydney drag queen and reality star Carla from Bankstown.

Carla, who has been on a social media break since June 2025, took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday to call out the controversial groom for some of his recent comments on the reality show. Not only has he repeatedly called his partner Stephanie Marshall “masculine” and said he wants someone “submissive”, but he also said in his audition video that he doesn’t want homosexuality “pushed in his face all the time”.

Carla from Bankstown slams MAFS’ Tyson

Carla shared a statement on social media questioning why MAFS would platform Tyson’s “disgusting” views, and accused him of being “misogynistic, homophobic and clearly afraid of a woman in charge”.

The Celebrity Apprentice star then followed up the post with a screenshot of what appears to be Tyson replying to her Instagram Story and asking: “Genuine question, are you a boy or a girl?”

Carla says she responded by saying she’s a drag queen, and Tyson seemed to reply with: “You need Jesus.”

“You need a reality check,” Carla said, to which Tyson appeared to respond: “Come give me one big boy.”

Tyson responds to backlash

Carla told PEDESTRIAN.TV that Tyson ended up blocking her on Instagram after their brief interaction, and she’s glad she put him on blast.

“Honestly, I just wanted to call someone out on their bullshit because men like this shouldn’t be given a platform,” she said.

“The fact that within three minutes of me tagging him [and] calling him out he responds just shows how insecure he really is! I think it’s funny that he wants to say he’s so ‘masculine’ and has all this ‘masculine energy’, but then blocks me after all that? Absolute gronk.”

Carla’s post has since been flooded with comments defending her and describing Tyson as “revolting”, “awful” and “putrid”.

When contacted for comment, Tyson doubled down on his messages to Carla and told P.TV that he was defending his character.

“Her Instagram post about me was completely inappropriate, I have a right to defend myself against these disgusting individuals trying to defame my character,” he said.

Carla isn’t the only person who has publicly called out Tyson, with fellow MAFS intruder Chris Robinson telling P.TV that he found his comments on the show “offensive”.

“[Tyson] said he’s not homophobic, but in the same breath he also said ‘I don’t care about gays, do what you want, but do it behind closed doors or keep it out of my face’,” Chris said.

“For me, that’s like telling a straight person to keep it out of my face or keep it behind closed doors. So yeah, I’m sorry, but that’s a bit offensive.”

MAFS: After The Dinner Party host Laura Byrne also clashed with the groom last week and said his comments were “frustrating and really offensive as a woman”, and his on-screen partner Stephanie told P.TV that she doesn’t think he has “a great deal of emotional intelligence”.

Meanwhile, even social services minister Tanya Plibersek criticised Tyson over a viral clip in which he said he wanted his bride to be “obedient” like a dog.

P.TV has contacted Channel 9, the owner of this masthead, for comment.
