Man City charges LIVE: Maresca to speak out for first time since guilty verdict along with Liverpool boss Iraola

What are the next steps?
Manchester City’s potential punishment for breaking the rules is, as of yet, unknown.
They face a potentially massive deduction in points or possibly an expulsion from the league itself.
The club have appealled against the verdict and their appeal is being assessed. The result of that appeal is likely to be revealed in December before the next stage of the case will take place.

What is going on with Man City?
In case you missed it, Manchester City have been found guilty of a majority of the charges laid against them by the Premier League of breaching financial rules.
What that means and how the independent commission came to their verdict of guilty is explained right here by our Chief Football Writer Miguel Delaney:

Maresca on the feelings of the Man City players
As part of the same interview with Man City’s internal media, Maresca was asked how the players are feeling.
He gave a positive update and claimed that the players are focused on the next few matches rather than any off-field events.
“The feeling is fantastic, to be honest,” Maresca said.
“The players are excited for the next two games. But especially they are excited because in this moment we are top of the league. The players are just focused on that.
“They know what we can control is the football side – they are not worried at all about different things.
“They know their profession and they know that the noise is there, but they don’t care too much about the noise. They are just focused in this moment on how we can bear Liverpool and how, together with the fans, we can try to win in Anfield.”

What has Enzo Maresca already said?
The Man City manager had already given an insight into his thoughts and has spoken to the club’s internal media.
“Personally, I’m very calm, to be honest,” he told the club website.
“The club has been quite clear. We trust completely the club. We understand the noise but the focus for us is just what we can control and we can control just the football side.
“We need to be all together. I said many times the reason why this organisation in the last 15 years was top was because from the owner, the CEO, the sporting director, the manager, players, fans, they are all on the same page. And this is fantastic.”

Premier League press conferences today
There are plenty are updates to come throughout the day alongside Enzo Maresca’s reaction to the Man City verdict.
Each Premier League manager will be asked for their thoughts on the matter with Brighton’s Fabian Hurzeler and Fulham’s Alvaro Arbeloa to speak before Maresca.
Then, this afternoon, there’ll be a flurry of press conferences as all of Andoni Iraola, Michael Carrick, Mikel Arteta and Roberto de Zerbi, among others, are due to speak around 1.30pm.

What will Enzo Maresca be asked?
The big press conference today will be Enzo Maresca’s at Manchester City.
Over the international break, City were found guilty of 114 breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules by an independent commission.
Maresca hasn’t spoken to the media since then so he will be asked about the club’s response, his feelings on the matter and probably how the players have reacted to the news as well as how the club are preparing for the contest with Liverpool this Sunday.
Maresca has been consistent in backing City’s stance that they are innocent of the charges but we will see what he has to say this morning.
