Minister of Business Sector: We aim to transform Egypt into a regional center for the manufacture and export of medicines and medical supplies

Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of the Public Business Sector, confirmed the state’s intention to transform Egypt into a regional center for the manufacture and export of medicines and medical supplies.
This came during the signing of a tripartite strategic partnership agreement between “Dawah Holdie International” and “Dawa Holdie International” company. The Egyptian Pharmaceutical Holding Company, affiliated with the Ministry of Public Business Sector, and the “Dawa Pharma” company contribute to it. The American Dawah Pharma LLC and the Qatari-German Medical Devices Company “QG Medical Devices” took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Business Sector in the New Administrative Capital, which comes within the framework of efforts to enhance Arab and international industrial integration and the localization of modern medical technology.
The signing was attended by Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, Dr. Hisham Steit, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Purchasing, Medical Supply and Supply, and Medical Technology Management, and the leaders of the three companies. This partnership is within the framework of a comprehensive strategy to enhance cooperation between Arab and foreign expertise in the fields of industrial investment, health care, and the pharmaceutical and medical supplies industry, with the aim of establishing an integrated production and supply system inside and outside Egypt, and supporting scientific and medical progress in the Arab region.
Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of the Public Business Sector, confirmed that this agreement represents an important step in the process of localizing modern medical technology, and within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Public Business Sector to develop the pharmaceutical industry in affiliated companies and strengthen global partnerships.
He explained that the agreement comes in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 is to enhance advanced industrial investment and enhance national and regional pharmaceutical security, in a way that contributes to raising the competitiveness of Egyptian and Arab products in global markets.
For his part, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Medicine Authority, stressed that the Authority is a strategic partner and a major driver in implementing the state’s vision, as the partnership reflects the state’s commitment to supporting local manufacturing and localizing the medical supplies industry.
Al-Ghamrawy said that the Egyptian Medicine Authority is providing an attractive and stimulating regulatory environment for investment in the sector. The localization of the medical supplies industry is one of the most important pillars for enhancing pharmaceutical security, and it confirms its work in integration with various state institutions to build a strong national industry capable of meeting the needs of the local market and competing regionally and internationally.
Dr. Hisham Steit, Chairman of the Unified Purchasing Authority, confirmed that the agreement represents a step towards establishing a unified Arab system for medical supply and pharmaceutical manufacturing, indicating that cooperation between the three parties ensures the availability of medicines and medical supplies at competitive prices and global quality, and enhances health security.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Maksoud, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Dawah Pharma LLC, said: “We are not only signing a commercial agreement, but we are establishing a true Arab – international alliance in the field of health care, and this partnership reflects our deep belief in the capabilities of the Arab region to lead global industrial and medical transformation, and will pave the way for joint manufacturing projects and the exchange of experiences that will put our region in a leadership position.”

Malak, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of QG Medical Devices: “This partnership opens new horizons for cooperation between Qatar, Egypt and the United States in the fields of advanced health care, and we believe that integration between the three parties will bring about a qualitative shift in the Arab medical industry and make our products capable of competing in global markets.”
The signing ceremony concluded by emphasizing that this partnership represents a strategic and developmental alliance that seeks to achieve the concept of “health without borders.” Through industrial and scientific projects extending to Africa and the Arab region, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030, and enhancing Egypt’s role as a regional center for manufacturing and exporting high-quality medicines and medical supplies.
