NFL star left baffled by reporter’s bizarre question about a ‘baby’

Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze was stunned by a question from NFL Network reporter Stacey Dales about two of his teammates, where he combined to make a ‘baby’.

At this point in the preseason, many are looking for insights as to how teams will look for games that actually matter.

That led to Dales questioning Odunze about his rookie teammate, Luther Burden, who has slid into being the No 3 wideout for the Bears behind Odunze and DJ Moore.

Dales baffled Odunze with the way she wanted to know about Burden and how he fits into the Bears offense.

‘Rome work with me on this one, somebody on your staff told me that if you and DJ had a baby, it would be Luther Burden…’ Dales said, causing Odunze to lose his composure and laugh, with a pause from Dales before she continued. ‘Because of the skill sets that you both bring.’

‘Because of your contested ability and run after the catch and because of your speed, and because of DJ’s obviously ability to be incredibly versatile.’

Dales finished her question by asking about what Odunze has seen from Burden thus far.

Odunze was in a similar spot to Burden a year ago, as a highly touted wide receiver attempting to help quarterback Caleb Williams live up to his lofty prophecy.

Burden fell to the second round despite entering the 2024 college football season as arguably the most prized receiver in the country.

The 21-year-old left Missouri as one of the greatest pass-catchers in program history and will look to help Chicago get out of last place in the NFC North.

While Burden does possess a stout ability to win contested passes and has breakaway speed, he may not exactly be half Moore and 50-percent Odunze.
