Packers add two-time Super Bowl champion and ‘key weapon’ to roster as free agency frenzy continues

The Green Bay Packers have made a major splash in the special teams market, securing a two-time Super Bowl champion to bolster their roster.
The franchise reached an agreement with former San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Skyy Moore on Tuesday afternoon.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the deal is a one-year contract aimed at fixing a long-standing weakness in Green Bay’s return game.
Moore spent the 2025 season with the 49ers, where he revitalized his career by becoming one of the league’s most efficient return specialists.
The 25-year-old was a former second-round draft pick by the Chiefs in 2022, earning two championship rings during his three-year stint in Missouri.
The move marks the latest aggressive step by the Packers’ front office as they continue to refine the depth of their young roster.

In San Francisco, Moore emerged as a key weapon for the team, proving his worth beyond just the wide receiver depth chart.
Last season, he averaged an impressive 27.5 yards per kick return and 11.6 yards per punt return, providing the 49ers with consistent offensive starting points.
While he was used sparingly as a pass-catcher – recording just five receptions for 87 yards – his impact on the game’s ‘third phase’ was undeniable.
The Packers have struggled to find a consistent spark in the return game since former All-Pro Keisean Nixon shifted focus toward a full-time defensive role.
Moore brings 1,377 total return yards to Wisconsin, along with the high-pressure experience of playing in five career postseason games.
His addition is expected to provide a reliable veteran presence for a unit that has often been cited as the team’s biggest hurdle to a deep playoff run.
