Project Development Authority officials review a number of different activities and the investment map in the governorates

During the Board of Governors meeting today, chaired by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, officials of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency reviewed a number of the agency’s activities in various governorates of the Republic, as well as the features of the National Strategy for Handicrafts (2025 – 2030), as well as the investment map in the governorates.
The agency officials began the presentation by pointing out the most important axes of the National Handicrafts Strategy (2025-2030), whose vision is for Egypt to become the most important centers for the production and export of handicrafts in the world, through building value chains that are characterized by competitiveness, sustainability, inclusion, and creative capabilities. High.
The agency’s officials also noted that there are several goals for the national strategy, which focus on increasing exports to $600 million by 2030, and for handmade products to capture 70% of the local market, in addition to providing 120,000 new job opportunities, in addition to increasing official projects in the sector by 10% annually, and developing 15 natural craft clusters.
In the same context, officials spoke about the contents of the strategy’s action plan, noting that there are 32 separate action plans aimed at penetrating the target markets (export markets and the local market), enhancing training and productivity of handicrafts, and export readiness for projects, as well as supporting designers and developing their performance, developing natural craft clusters with a number of up to about 15 clusters, and achieving sustainability. In terms of green supply chains, as well as developing and strengthening the supporting bodies and the incubating environment.
During the meeting, the agency’s officials also reviewed the activities proposed to be implemented in the governorates, pointing out that they include developing 15 natural craft clusters and having the potential to increase them, in addition to establishing craft stores with a unified brand in airports, museums, and tourist attractions, as well as providing governorate bazaars on holidays to display local craft products, and developing and accrediting them. 40 training centers for handicrafts, through inventorying and evaluating current centers, raising their efficiency, and establishing new centers; To increase the number of trained craftsmen and provide new job opportunities.
During the meeting, the officials also touched on the map and investment opportunities in the governorates, explaining that within the framework of joint coordination between the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency and a number of concerned authorities, a joint introductory training program was prepared and implemented to target investment managers in the governorates and directors of the agency’s regional branches; With the aim of adding the focus of medium, small and micro enterprises to comprehensive economic development efforts, investment managers and managers of the agency’s branches were also trained on how to complete investment opportunity data forms for industrial, agricultural, tourism and service activities.
