
A 12-year-old girl has been charged with attempted murder after a 55-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed in the chest in Queensland.
Emergency services were called to a residence in Augustine Heights, Ipswich, about 4pm, following reports of a stabbing.
Upon arriving at the home, police found a woman with a stab wound to her chest.
The 55-year-old woman suffered serious injuries.
She was treated by paramedics before being transported to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
A 12-year-old girl who lives with the victim has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
She was remanded in custody and due to appear in Ipswich Children’s Court on Monday.
Queensland Police confirmed investigations remain ongoing.
