Safety alert over Lucky Saint beer due to risk of exploding cans that ‘could cause injury’
Lucky Saint is recalling batches of its low alcohol beer after discovering some cans may have been over-pressurised and could explode.
The beer brand said it is recalling the cans over fears they could ‘swell, leak or rupture unexpectedly, presenting a risk of physical injury’.
The recall affects 330ml cans of Lucky Saint 0.5 per cent Hazy IPA, sold in four-packs, with a best before date of the end of August 13, 2027.
In a notice issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), Lucky Saint warned consumers not to open the cans or drink the beer.
Customers have also been urged not to return the cans to store.
Instead consumers should share proof of purchase with the store for a full refund and safely dispose of the product.

To do this, point-of-sales-notices advise handling the cans as little as possible and placing them upright in a sealed bag and disposing of them with household waste.

The FSA said recalls are issued when a product should not be sold because it may pose a risk to consumers.
Lucky Saint did not share how the cans may have become over-pressurised.
But the FSA confirmed there is a risk that the cans may explode which may cause injury.
