Guests at Selena Gomez’s wedding have lifted the lid on the “heartfelt” speech her bestie Taylor Swift made during the ceremony, a week after she tied the knot with Benny Blanco.

The musician pair said “I do” during a star-studded wedding in Santa Barbara, with Swift among a handful of celeb attendees alongside Paul Rudd, Lana Del Rey and Paris Hilton.
But Swift, perhaps the starriest of them all, was said to have made her mark — at least according to Julia DeLuise, the wife of Gomez’s Wizards of Waverly Place co-star, David DeLuise.
“The heavens opened and an angel descended,” Julia said of Swift in a video shared to her Instagram Stories.
According to Page Six, David also gushed over the pop star, saying she is “just amazing” and lauding “the energy that was popping off of her”.
The DeLouises said Swift walked straight up to them and fellow Wizards alum Jennifer Stone (who played Harper on the Disney show) for a chat. The pair also confirmed reports that Swift had delivered a sweet speech at some point during the ceremony.
“[Swift] said that whenever one of them had their hearts broken from a failed relationship [sic] over the years, they were always there for each other,” a post shared by Julia read.
It was also reported that, during her speech, Swift made a joke about Gomez “beating her to the altar”, a cheeky nod to her own upcoming nuptials to Travis Kelce.
It’s a sweet lil’ homage to how far Swift and Gomez have come since first meeting back in 2008, when they were dating dating Joe and Nick Jonas, respectively.
They’ve had plenty of romantic hiccups in the years since, so the fact they have both found (or will soon find) marital bliss is the stuff of pure friendship goals.
Fellow wedding guest Tanya Rad also spilled on her Swift experience at the nuptials.
Rad said on the Scrubbing In podcast that she told Swift she had walked down the aisle to her song “Invisible String”, and the singer had a “magical” response.
“It was my first dance and I walked down the aisle to it,” Rad said of the song, which featured on Swift’s 2020 album folklore.
“She was so kind. She loved it. She asked me what song, and she was like, ‘That means so much’,” Rad recalled.
“I cannot explain to you how magical, regal, genuine, present, locked in, invested and normal [she was]. I audibly gasped,” she added.
It comes after Gomez’s mum, Mandy Teefey, denied rumours she was upset about not being asked to walk her daughter down the aisle, saying the reports were “ludicrous” and describing the event as a “fairytale”.
We don’t yet know when Swift’s wedding will be, but rest assured Gomez will no-doubt be by her bestie’s side whenever that day rolls around.
